Sephora Haul & Ciate Caviar Mini Bar Set Swatches
So I went to Sephora today armed with store credit and planning on a total purchase of 4 polish gift sets. I planned on getting the two new Nails Inc gift sets, the new Julep 5 polish gift set and then this Ciate Polish set posted above. After holding and carrying the four sets around the store I decided that I only needed one of the four sets. I didn't like the black holographic glitter nail polish enough to warrant spending 30.00 on it (since the multi coloured glitter and the red one I knew I would not use. And as for the glitter set I again couldn't convince myself to spend 30.00 on one mini polish and some glitter (the top coat I have tried and don't love and a little brush was easily done without!). So this ended up being a much cheaper trip than planned AND I am done with holiday gift sets as far as I know!
As you can see, I also picked up an eyelash curler (this I actually needed!) and I got it on clearance for only $7 instead of the normal $21! And then I broke down and got the Tangerine Tango nail polish set for $14!
The nail polishes are full sized at 15mls each which is nice and even though I am sure I will never use the polish on the very right, for the price of the set I am ok with that. As for the eyelash curler, I have no experience with them so I have no idea what to look for in one. But I liked the fact that it came with two extra rubber pads. I will let you know what I think of it after I have used it somewhat!
The Ciate polish set I debated quite a bit. I will never use the pink and is $30 justifiable for 3 mini polishes? But the truth is that I wanted those three colours (all three are on my wishlist) and while you get a lot less for the $$, I still would have had to spend more than that to get the three otherwise. And yes, the caviar beads are nothing pricey, and you can buy them for cheap at a craft store, but you can not buy the colour combos and if you start buying enough colours to make those mixes, the price goes up exponentially.
Now the one thing to note about these is the brushes on the orange and the silver (the two I like the most!) SUCK!!!!!!!! I may return the set and try to exchange it for a different one that has better brushes. I really hope I just got a bum set!
I have not yet swatched the polishes but here is a quick (and I mean REALLY quick) set of swatches of the four caviar beads!!
