Julep Eye Gliders - Swatched!

So I thought I would share with you swatches of the Julep Eye Gliders. I own all except for the Teal one, the Olive one (which is in the mail en route) and the new Indigo one which is also en route.

How do I feel about these liners? In case you couldn't figure it out already:

These are so smooth. They glide on, they wear great, they take just enough time to dry that you can smudge them out if you want, but they dry fast enough that you dont have to worry about WAITING for them to dry!

Top to bottom (and left to right): Forest Green Shimmer, Emerald Shimmer, Navy Smoke and Cosmic Black Shimmer.

Julep Forest Green Shimmer and Graphite Shimmer Gel Eye Gliders

I just got Graphite shimmer and Forest Green Shimmer in the mail! That makes 11 and 12 of the 15 shades. But no fear, I have two shades en route and don't want the last one!

These are just as gorgeous and creamy as the others. And they glide on effortlessly! Check back later today for swatches of ALL of them!

Avon Super Shock Gel Eyeliners Swatched!

Marc Jacobs Gel Liners and Julep Gel Eye Gliders. As far as I am concerned there are no better out there. And I have been doing my darndest to test as many liners as I can get my grubby hands on.

Enter the Avon Super Shock liners. I had to try them. They come in 5 shades. From the top left and going clockwise: Blackout, Plumful, Aqua Pop, Intense Brown and Cobalt.

Now I have two to show you all today.

Cobalt and Plumful. The only complaint I can really give about these is the names. I would love to talk to the crazy person who thought the smart place to put the names would be near the tip of the pencil so when you sharpen it (yes, these are ones you have to sharpen, like the Julep but unlike the Marc Jacobs) you sharpen away the name after one or two times.

Aside from the stupid name placement, there is not much to say about these that the swatches dont say for themselves. INSANELY pigmented, smooth, and soft like butter!

I would say the only complaint is how soft they are. But that is also a great thing. So if its a great thing but also a pain in the you know what, what do you do? Simple. When its time to sharpen them, throw them in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before you sharpen them to harden them up a bit and make them easier to sharpen!

Julep Stargazer Gel Eyeliner Set Swatched

I have already established on this blog how much I love the Julep Gel Eye Gliders. They are so smooth, pigmented, they glide on effortlessly, they stay put and well, they simply are awesome.

I bought this set on julep.com for $16.99 and also got one as the savvy surprise (so yup, the mother unit got the other one).

Top to bottom: Champagne Shimmer, Cosmic Black Shimmer, Emerald Shimmer, Sepia Brown Shimmer and Amethyst Shimmer.

So I now basically need the others. I seem to not have rich brown, regal teal, navy smoke, olive, graphite and bronze shimmer.

Julep Shipping - When Does It Improve?

So this is what I ordered. You can see from the shipping notice above. I ordered the Fa La La Trio, The Getaway Trio, Ice Queen Trio and the Savvy Surprise.

This is what I got:

The Getaway Trio had Marzia and Aurora in it, but instead of Devon I got a second Aurora.

The Ice Queen Trio had 3 polishes in it, sadly they were all wrong.

So I got 6 polishes in 4 different shades, only two of them being what I ordered. I called, and they were very nice about it, and promised to send me Devon, the Ice Queen trio, the Fa La La trio and the savvy surprise. So another two weeks pass and I get this in the mail.

Now I have what I was supposed to have recieved (what I ordered):

So yes, as is the normal, Julep did fix the mistake. And I got to keep two random polishes and two extra backups. BUT..... it took almost a month to get what I ordered in the first place.

This leaves me with the eternal question asked once again. "What on earth do they drink in the Julep processing facility and can I have some?"

Tarte Eye Opening 12-piece Amazonian Clay Eyeliner Set

Now you may all be going "she got more eyeliners??". Its true. I have somehow managed to go from the idea of "UD 24/7 liners are the best liners on the planet and I wont use anything else" to realizing that there are much better ones out there (mind you I have found only a few so far). So now I feel compelled to try so many out since I ignored so many brands for so long. And the truth is that I needed a nude liner and owned exactly zero before getting this set.  I got it on clearance at Sephora for $30 and with 20% off it was only $24 for the set. While long gone from sephora (sorry!) it is available for $25 ($33CAD) on the tarte Canada or US website HERE.

The set includes 12 full sized liners in a small little gold brush/liner roll.

VERDICT - The pigmentation is great. I am not quite sure the black is much of a black. I would call the charcoal dark grey or gunmetal and call the black charcoal to be honest. Otherwise, no complaints with the pigmentation. The glide on easily though some shades smudge and move a bit more than they should. But they are not bad. For the most part I think the Urban Decay ones are better but these aren't terrible. They get about 6 hours of wear making them not the most long lasting, but for a night out they are good. The biggest complaint about these is the stupid plastic lids that are cheap and dont stay on well.

For $30 bucks though, this is a fantastic set of eyeliners for you to start out with. That being said, I am not giving up my Julep or Marc Jacobs pencils!
