If you are me, you apparently come home and buy ANOTHER large bag of clothes! I am not even close to done showing you all my NYC goodies, but the day after I got home a girlfriend phoned me and invited me thrift shopping! How could I say no?
And Value Village has a thing going on right now where for every five dollars you spend you get a stamp. When you fill up your stamp card (75.00 total spent) you get 30% off your entire purchase! Well, as I walked in to the store a woman handed me a filled up card and said she was from out of town and would not get to use it so I should have it! SCORE!
Now I desperately needed a spring coat. And I think I settled on this one. It is a pale grey and not the best colour for me but it fits fantastically so for now it will do. And as said before all these were 30% off.
I love this navy Liz Claiborne skirt. It fits great and I don't own a navy skirt!
This I don't see a brand on at all, but I love that its reversable. A light grey and a dark grey! Perfect for this summer. Light cotton and works well.
I freaking LOVE this bag! Its a Danier Leather purse, so smooshy, fits perfectly in length, the way it sits on my shoulder, and the pockets are perfect. I have to restore the leather somehow cause its been well loved. But I have not stopped using it since I got it!
A dress that I was talked in to trying on. And fits me like a dream.
This dress I love. It fits me perfectly and I wore it to work and got a ton of compliments on it. It somehow makes my waste super tiny and almost hides my enormous elephant-esque butt!
Pure by Alfred Sung makes some of my favourite sweaters. Cashmere and Cotton in the winter, Silk and Cotton in the summer. This is the silk and cotton one.
Love this Michael Kors sweater!
A Sisley T-Shirt.
A great red Sweater. Not sure I can pull off bright red, but i am going to try! For this nautical sweater with the ties at the shoulders, I HAVE TO TRY!
A sweater I have tried on at Winners/TJ Maxx a thousand times and has always been too big. Solution - apparently a petite! And 30% off 7.99 is much better than the 34.99 I have always ALMOST spent!
Then we stopped at the Goodwill on the way home and I found a few more treasures! This Danier Leather bag is BRAND SPANKING NEW! And will go perfectly with a few different dresses I own!
An Yves St Laurent scarf for 4.00!!! The colours would just not photograph. But its bright green. And a true green. Not at all teal like the first two pictures. The last picture is more accurate but not 100%
Then, because apparently I didnt shop enough, the Salvation Army in the parking lot of where I work (literally!) had a few gems that needed to come home with me! And the fact that I get 10% off there makes it all the more dangerous. Though I don't usually luck out there. The only other thing I have found there in the last year is that teal Danier Leather bag that matches the wallet I already owned.
I LOVE this purple vintage wool skirt with the kick pleat in the back!
And this Ralph Lauren blouse not only fits like a dream and is super comfortable, it has the EXACT shade of purple running through it! LOVE!
A great pale blue summer blouse. Nothing special, but it fits nicely!
And this GORGEOUS vintage silk Liberty of London scarf. Yes. You read it correctly. 99 cents!!!
And a great teal cardigan I have already worn a couple of times!

New York Thrift Store Hop Day Two - Astoria Queens
So as I casually mentioned in my last post, while at the Goodwill Outlet I happened to run in to the lovely girls responsible for AuH20 (CheapJap Alexandra and Kate). They told me one of their favourite Salvation Army locations was the Steinway local located in Astoria Queens. They also reminded me that all Salvation Army locations have family day on Wednesdays where instead of one colour tag being 50% off, all tags but ONE colour are half off. So I spent Tuesday with some girlfriends and on Wednesday hopped on an M train (no point taking a cab in NYC, that just defeats the purpose of thrift) and headed to Astoria!
Now when I say both Goodwill and Salvation Army are RIGHT at the subway stop I am not kidding. They are on opposite sides of the street, but no matter what subway exit you choose, you are guaranteed to land at a thrift store!
Now the Goodwill was REALLY disappointing. The store is really small and the price points were slightly ridiculous.
Now this is a really awesome Jason Wu for Target dress. It was really cute and actually fit me really well. I did not however buy it. There were two in store. One was priced at 19.99 and one was priced at 14.99. Why the difference? Who knows! And I was not about to spend twenty dollars on a used target dress. Not going to happen. I was pretty annoyed at the price points and at this point was in a bad mood. Then I saw this dress.
Now 24.99 for a used dress is outside of my zone of acceptable price points. BUT..... it fit me AMAZINGLY and I loved it. But as I was trying it on the price tag fell off. They told me they could not sell it and it would have to go back to the back and be priced and be back on the floor within 48 hours. I explained I was from outside the country and would have no chance to be back and the manager took it back to get it repriced. Then it came back at a completely different price! WHAT THE HECK?? 12.99! So yay for me. BUT............ When I got home I realized I somehow left the belt behind! Will have to get/find a satin belt to go with it! BAH!!
So all in all Goodwill was not a total bust. But next I went to the Salvation Army. Now I don't think I mentioned it in my last post but Salvation Army locations in NYC no longer have any fitting rooms. So be prepared for that! But thats ok. I was DETERMINED to find some gems here
Now ALL tags except blue ones were half off.
I really love the colour of this polo shirt. And .99 for a Juicy polo?
Now this skirt fits perfectly. But its a bad length. If it was 2 inches longer... So my plan is to get it hemmed to just below the knees. In MY world skirts need to be just grazing the knee or just grazing the ground. At 5 foot 3 I find just above the ankle a really really bad length.
A really great Cashmere sweater for 2.49. Very similar to the one I got at the Goodwill Clearance Outlet (not quite as soft but this is still a great quality one) but a few shades lighter!
This was the only item I got that was NOT half off. But a great big comfy Theory T for 2.99? I was not going to worry it was not half off!
And while I dont often buy shoes second hand these were great! Brand new, 4.99 and not only cute (I think!) but super comfortable!
So 21.42 at Salvation Army and 12.99 at Goodwill made for a great morning! And an afternoon of great food and friends made it a perfect day!

Yes, you are seeing correctly. A Sisley blazer for 6.49! SCORE!!! LOVE the fit, the charcoal grey, the subtle pin stripes. LOVE!!
