Ipsy Bag March 2015 Un..... Bagging?

So my mom signed up for Ipsy ages ago, went on the wait list instead of following all the hoops to get a bag immediately. That being said, if you want to not wait, just like the 3-4 youtube accounts and subscribe to them to skip the list. But she was on the list and then SURPRISE! She got a box.

In the bag came a NYX butter lipstick ($6), 2 skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gel sheets ($7.50), a crown double sided brush ($7), Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow (aprox $2 based on a full sized palette being $12) and a Coolway Oil Treatment sample (aprox $3)

Overall, the value of this bag is about $22USD. For Canadians the bag costs $15 for Americans $10. While this is certainly not the best bag I have ever seen, the value is not terrible either. And if it were me I would use or try most of the bag. I would ignore the oil as well as the purple lipstick. But the bag is not mine, so its irrelevant!

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

Ever noticed that when a fad hits, EVERY brand from high to low has to jump on board? BB creams, then CC creams, Chubby pencils, now it seems to me the battle between highlighting and contouring palettes/products. NYX has this one out now, and I must say, I like the fact that there seems to be some VERY light shades. That being said, at $25USD (so I assume $30-$35 here) its far more pricey than I think is right for a drugstore product. So for me, this is a maybe. What about you guys?

NYX Wicked Lipstics

So here are the new NYX Wicked Lipsticks

First they did the pastel macaron lipsticks for spring, now these. Not sure I am anymore anxious to get these than I was to get those (which was no excitement at all) but they are interesting. If you are into a statement lip (and these CERTAINLY make a statement!) these may be right up your ally! Available now, are you going to be picking up any of these?

I had never seen this eyeliner from NYX before but I have to say I am intrigued! Has anyone here tried it? Id love to hear some feedback!

Calling All NYX Users - This Blogger Needs Your Help!

So IMATS is coming up faster than I can fully except. Less than a week away! AND I CAN'T WAIT! Now as you all know I tend to stick to high end makeup much more than drugstore versions. To start with, it actually costs a lot less to buy one $40 blush a month than to buy 10 $6 blushes a month! But the biggest thing is I have become spoiled by the quality of high end makeup. I have some drugstore items in my stash, but for the most part, the quality does not compare. Again, I do have some drugstore items I love and you couldn't trade me a Dior or YSL version if you tried to have me give them up. But in general, I will take Guerlain, Hourglass or Dior over Revlon or Maybelline any day.

Maybe that is why I have avoided NYX. Or not really avoided, but just kind of ignored. That and living in Canada we pay 50% more and its much harder to find. And the selection is much less. But last time I was at IMATS (was it just a few months ago in LA? Seems like IONS!!) I was overwhelmed by the NYX display. And so I need your help!

What do I try? I love the Jumbo eyeliners/shadow pencils and want to get some lip ones this time. I also think I am going to pick up some mechanical lip pencils. The butter lipsticks are on the shopping list, along with............ WHAT ELSE?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment here with items I need to try! What do you love? Or what do you want me to try and review?

And here are some photos of the NYX booth at IMATS LA in January. It should give you an idea at the craziness and sheer volume of what they had, as well as the insane prices!! And this was just a VERY SMALL sampling!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils In Sparkle Leopard, Sparkle Nude, Cashmere, Yogurt, Strawberry Milk, Cottage Cheese And Milk

So about a month ago I finally tried a NYX Jumbo Pencil. I picked up Milk and was blown away by the colour and the application. It is one of those cult products out there in the beauty world that I have heard about for eons and just never tried it. Well thank goodness I did! I liked it so much I ordered a bunch more (six) off of the Cherry Culture website. The wait was quite long but aside from that I have no complaints. It took about 3 weeks to come but oh my gosh was it packaged to survive anything.

From left to right, is Sparkle Leopard, Sparkle Nude, Cashmere, Yogurt, Strawberry Milk, Cottage Cheese And Milk. The pigment is AMAZING and they go on beautifully. The only thing is that they didnt seem to last on my eyes more than about 4 hours. I did however not use a primer so I am going to have to give them another go with a primer and hope to get better longevity!

Now I was a little confused as to how to sharpen these plastic pencils and actually had to google it (I wont admit how much time I actually spent trying to twist the bottom) but the Urban Decay Grind House sharpener worked beautifully. I know (now) that NYX makes one special for these pencils but the Grindhouse sharpener is amazeballz and sharpens everything. So if you need to pick up a sharpener, i recommend opting for the Urban Decay one!

Sparkle Leopard and Sparkle Nude remind me of Urban Decay colours in terms of the glitter in the colours. Picture an urban decay glitter shadow with OUT the fall out and you have these uber creamy liners/shadow sticks. Look how amazing the swatches are!
