Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains - Swatches, Swatches & More Swatches!

So I am going to start out this post with a picture of a new limited edition Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. The colour is called Sweetheart Valentine. My mom picked this up for herself at Superstore. It was in a display case (I never saw this at either store when I went!). I am not going to get this one (not really my colour) but I grabbed my moms 020 Lovesick to compare. I hope this gives you an idea of the colour. I would have swatched it to show you but my mom would have KILLED ME!

And here are my six. From top to bottom are Precious, Rendezvous, Charm, Honey, Cherish and Crush.

And here are swatches of them all in order. For each one I swatched it once to show what it looks like with one swipe, and then I finlled itin to show you how it looks at its darkest as it is certainly buildable colour. As you can see, precious (the one on the very left) is almost non existent unless you really go to town on it. And even at its very darkest its barely there. Then there is Rendezvous or Crush which build to a REALLY dark colour! So I think there is really something for everyone in the line!

K B Shimmer Orange Pop

KB Shimmer Orange Pop is my first experience with the brand. Described as "Orange Pop is a fun orange in the same shade as that favorite childhood drink. Just like the parties I drank it at, confetti floats through this polish in the form of several shades and sizes of glitter. Super fine holographic silver, pink and blue, hex glitter in holographic gold, teal, magenta and a bright purple add just a punch of shine." This really does look like Orange Tang (or that orange drink that came from McDonalds? You know the one I am talking about? McDonalds used to donate it to charity and school functions all the time when I was a kid). with confetti in it.  This bright neonish orange jelly polish has teal, pinkish purple, gold and gold hex glitters and holographic fine shimmer/glitter. Opaque in three coats this polish really is great. There is no flaw in the formula I can think of. The polish retails for $8.75 and can be purchased on the KB Shimmer website HERE.

How To Know If Its Polish Buying Time!

Saw this image floating around Facebook and had to share it!

L'oreal Color Riche Balms VS Maybelline Baby Lips. Swatch Heavy Post!

So today I have for you a comparison. If you look online (especially YouTube) the general consensus is to compare these to the Revlon Lip Butters. They are basically the same thing afterall.............. NO THEY ARE NOT!!! They are NOT like Revlon Lip Butters at all. They are more similar to the Maybelline Baby Lips. They are not a balm like lipstick. They just simply are not. They are a tinted balm and therefor most similar to the Baby Lips.

The colour selection, similar to the Baby Lips is very small. There are eight colours in the line. I have five of the eight. I do not have them for the simple reason that they have been out of stock everywhere I have tried to find them!

So let me start by saying that the general consensus on these seems to be that they are NOT pigmented at all and are almost invisible on. I am as I have mentioned very times GLOW IN THE DARK. Let me quickly insert a quick self portrait:

I know, I know! I look JUST LIKE Casper The Friendly Ghost (except I have a sunburn eternally! Glow in the dark white and bright red at the same time).

So yes, on some these colours are very very sheer. But if you are not as white as I am they might be pretty light/hard to see on you.

This one I have actually had for almost a month! I didnt realize that the product I have been LOVING for quite sometime was one of these. I had been gifted two lip products (one was a Lancome, and one was this. I didnt even REALIZE it wasnt a Lancome lipstick as well)

From left to right, nourishing nude, rose elixer, caring coral, heavenly berry and plush plum

And while I have shown you most of these Baby Lips before, here are the six I have:

As you can clearly see, I have been OBSESSED with the Grape Vine one recently!

From left to right: pink punch, melon mania, cherry me, grape vine, yummy plummy and peach kiss

And all of them swatched side by side:

As you can see, the Maybelline Baby Lips on the left are less pigmented than the L'oreal Color Riche Balms. So which are right for you? It depends. The texture and feel of them are both very similar. They are both certainly balms and NOT lipsticks. They are both very sheer and very moisturizing. The Baby Lips are about half the price retailing for about 5.49 though they can be found here for about 3.99 when on sale. The Color Riche Balms are about 9.99-10.99 but sales can find them priced around 7.99. So for price, the Baby Lips are certainly the cheaper option. The Color Riche Balms have a much more luxurious packaging and have a much nicer feel to the tubes. I personally prefer the L'oreal Balms but really like both! I suggest grabbing one of each and seeing which works best for you!

The New Look Of The Beauty Department At Superstore!

Oh. My. Gosh. I am beyond stunned. I have a confession to make. I HATE superstore. I avoid stupidstore like it is the plague.  It is too big, there is ZERO service, and when something is on sale it does not show the original price or show that the price is a sale price. So you never know if what you are buying is a sale or a regular price. BUT............ I heard a rumour that Revlon Lip Butters were 4.99 this week there so I decided to take a trip and check them out. A girlfriend of mine had an issue with 2 hair dye products and she ended up with $30 in vouchers for Revlon products and she refused to purchase from the brand again. So they were gifted to me! So I thought I would suck it up and head down to get me 6 lip butters! That was the plan anyways........

And OH MY! I was amazed when I walked in. This is the location right next to my the University I go to. So I am unsure if the store a 5 minute walk from my house looks like this, but it sure didn't the last time I was there (about 3 months ago!). It looks like a Sephora almost! It is of course not premium or deluxe brands, but it just looks fantastic! And they have Marcelle and some other brands that I was not aware that Superstore even sold!!!

The prices on the Baby Lips are 3.97 this week!

The Lip Butters And the Just Bitten Balm Stains were 4.97!

So yes, I still may not LOVE the way the store works and probably wont stop calling it StupidStore anytime soon (the service still stinks!) but I will certainly be visiting the store again and the beauty department!
