Lime Crime Carousel Gloss in Snowsicle

I picked up this gloss while at IMATS in California in January. I KNOW, this is a VERY late review. But I just opened it now and am using it for the first time. Not someone who is into glitter, its certainly not my usual kind of gloss, but I thought on the lips it might be nice.

Snowsicle is a clear gloss packed with rainbow sparkle. The base looks ice blue but when applied it goes on clear.

I must say I HATE the applicator. It is super tiny and (the photo is terrible I know) but you can see how tiny it is. It is about as long a brush as the tube is wide. And you KNOW how small lipgloss openings are! The formula while not sticky is kind of... goopy. So its frustrating to apply, though the small wand at least makes precision easier. So while annoying, there is a good point there. And because it is kind of goopy you can feel the little particles on your lips. While certainly not a deal breaker like sticky glosses are in my books, it's not a good thing.

Here is a swatch of it on its own, and then also on top of Bobbi Brown Miami Coral.

One thing I can tell you I am going to not like is how gross its going to look quickly. Just like those clear brow gels that get muddy and gross, this is going to be pink in no time. The minute you layer it over any other colour there is going to be transfer that is going to muck up the bottle.

Overall, I am a bit disappointed in the Carousel Gloss. Not because it is a bad product. But have you ever FINALLY watched a movie that has been raved about on and on and on and on and finally watch it only to go "That is what all the hype is about?!". That was kind of my introduction to Lime Crime. Nothing wrong with the product. It has flaws but the product is fine and all, but for all the hype that Lime Crime gets, I am kind of left disappointed.

Have you tried a Carousel Gloss before? What did you think of it? Any other Lime Crime products you love/hate?
