This mask is tea tree oil mask that claims to instantly cool and lift away impurities. The mask itself is clay mask with kaolin listed as the second ingredient. It smells strongly of tea tree oil which makes sense from the name of the product.
Now did I love this? NO. Did I dislike it? NO. I have issues with acne and blackheads. I was the kid in high school who never had a single pimple. Then fastforward to my 20s and trust me, My face looked like that of crater face coburn (no saved by the bell fans here?)
Am I the only one who remembers that episode? Where everyones face turns purple after Zach and Screech sell a pimple product that has a nasty side effect? Anyways, after years of trying EVERYTHING and ANYTHING, I finally have my skin under control. Or at least most of the time. I am not afraid to go out without foundation anymore and I usually can get the appearance of flawless skin with the help of some makeup. But I do still struggle with pimples and usually find that clay masks do the best job possible at giving me that extra little help from time to time.
Besides, how sexy do I look with the mask on?
Now in all honesty, this product let me down because of my inability to read, or my ability to read what I want to read in a label. Nowhere does this claim to help with acne. What it says exactly is:
This instantly cooling face mask cleanses, soothes and refreshes the skin.
- Helps remove impurities
- Absorbs excess oil
- Soothes skin
That is all it says. And does it feel instantly cooling and tingling in a good way? YES. 100%. Did it draw out excess oil and sooth the skin? YES. Did it help at all with any of the acne on my skin? NOPE. Not at all. But it doesn't say that it does. I was expecting something that I shouldn't have.
Overall, I think this would be a great mask to use once a week to help PREVENT breakouts and to deal with excess oil. Is it what I was hoping it would be? Not exactly. At $15 a tub, its a decent price and I can't fault the product, but I have to say the St Ives Mineral Clay Firming Mask does all that this one does, costs half as much, and does more for current acne outbreaks. That's not to say that this one isn't a good mask. Just not quite what I was hoping it would be.
