Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain VS Clinique Chubby Sticks With Swatches!

So I have spent the last two weeks sick. I had what I thought was a bad cold the last week and it turns out it was an ear infection. But the result of being sick was very dry chapped lips. Thus my sudden obsession with tinted lipglosses. So I was at Rexall picking up a prescription and happened to have a 20 dollar gift card that was 2 or 3 years old. So I went to pick up another Revlon Lip Butter and ended up getting this instead. It was just under $7.50 and I thought it would be just a slightly firmer version of the lip butter. Its NOT.

So they come in 12 colours and the one I picked up was 005 Crush. It was only as I was paying that I said to myself "Hey! These remind me of the Clinique Chubby Sticks!". When I got it home and compared it really is almost identical to the chubby stick. At least in the packaging. If you took the metal cap off the Clinique one and put it on the Revlon one, they are basically indistinguishable from each other. And while there is a smidgen more product in the Chubby Stick than the Revlon one, its a half an inch shorter. Both products have about three inches/four inches of product in a much longer stick.

The actual lip balm/stains are essentially the same thickness as you can see.

Both of the products twist up with the metal bottom and can be twisted back down as well. Something worth noting however is that Clinique one is completely scentless/tasteless. The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain has a very light minty smell. It is not overpowering and barely noticeable, but it is there.

Now as the name states, the Revlon one is a stain. Both products glide on effortlessly and apply smoothly. They both feel moisturizing, but I can not say they are the same. The Clinique one is certainly MORE moisturizing. It does provide colour, but its not really buildable. It gives more of a subtle but still there colour. I do not find that it has the most lasting power, but you would not expect anything different out of a balm. The Revlon on the other hand is very sheer, but can be built up to give A LOT of colour.

Below are the Clinique Chubby Stick in 03 Fuller Fig and the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 005 Crush.

As you can see, you can certainly wear 005 Crush as a subtle sheer colour or as a very bright stain.

Now, I took a makeup wipe meant to take off waterproof makeup and tried to take off all of the swatches. And as you can see below, the Revlon STAIN is still there. And trust me, I SCRUBBED! It certainly stained my hand!

All in all, I think they are two different products. I certainly don't think one replaces the other, but there is room for both products in my stash. The Clinique one is much more moisturizing. At $19 they are certainly more than the revlon ones which retail for between $7.97-$9.97 but are a great coloured (note they are coloured, not tinted) lip balm. They came in 8 colours but have recently expanded the selection to a now 16 colour range. The Revlon ones are certainly stains. They completely and totally stained my hand and its been a few hours since I photographed these and I still can not get the rest of the colour off my hand. They come in 12 different shades and are much more easily found but they are not anywhere near as moisturizing  They go on as smooth and balm like as the clinique, but within 5-10 minutes I feel like you need to add a lip balm to the top of your lips.
