Holiday 2013: Guy Bourdin

"François Nars has chosen a longtime muse as the subject of the second of his strategic collaborations: Guy Bourdin. Nars, in addition to having created his namesake cosmetics line (now owned by Shiseido Americas Corp.), is also an avid photographer. The limited-edition color cosmetics collection will “evoke the Parisian fashion photographer’s ambitious, provocative work,” according to the company. The offering, which will hit counters in November, is being produced under a license with Art + Commerce"
Yup! So if you spent 8 months last year anxious and waiting to see what the Andy Warhol collection was going to look like.... No? That was just me? I am not kidding. At least once a week I googled and searched wating for sneak peek. Well here we go again! This holidays inspiration/muse? Guy Bourdin! For those of you who do not know, Bourdin was a french artist who worked for Vogue Paris fashion magazine for decades as a fashion photographer.

Bourdin worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and shot ad campaigns for Chanel, Issey Miyake, Emanuel Ungaro, Gianni Versace, Loewe, Pentax and Bloomingdale's. He truly was (and still is) a pioneer of Fashion and one of the greatest and most famous fashion photographers in the world.
