Make Up Academy (MUA) One Pound Polishes??

So I came across a blog write up of a brand called MUA (Make Up Academy) that is sold in the UK at Superdrug at a cost of a pound each. Has anyone tried them? Are they any good? I figured I would put the question out to my readers and hope for a response!

If I dont hear anything I might bite the bullet and track down one or two to try! Some dollar store items are trash and worth less than the pound/dollar it costs, but sometimes there are great gems to be found!

What are YOUR favourite budget brands?

  1. I don't know how much has changed since I moved back to the States in August; the colors are pretty run of the mill for UK drugstore polishes. Same as any Barry M or Collection 2000. They are cheaper but then the bottles are tiny (5 ml or less). I would say I only ever purchased a MUA product for parties, Halloween, etc when I needed something I would not be using often or ever. I do have a nice red lipstick from them though.

  3. I have a few and I like them, the bottle is a bit difficult to grip but you get the hang of it and the colours are fab, I have couple queuing to be on my blog :)

  4. I would highly recommend that you save your money and not buy these. It's not because they are crappy polishes, but because I know you and I know how particular you are about polishes (this is not saying you are difficult), but honestly once you buy the good stuff with awesome formulas, MUA doesn't compare. Well, they shouldn't either as it only cost £1, but I would honestly say save your money.
