Now when I say both Goodwill and Salvation Army are RIGHT at the subway stop I am not kidding. They are on opposite sides of the street, but no matter what subway exit you choose, you are guaranteed to land at a thrift store!
Now the Goodwill was REALLY disappointing. The store is really small and the price points were slightly ridiculous.
Now this is a really awesome Jason Wu for Target dress. It was really cute and actually fit me really well. I did not however buy it. There were two in store. One was priced at 19.99 and one was priced at 14.99. Why the difference? Who knows! And I was not about to spend twenty dollars on a used target dress. Not going to happen. I was pretty annoyed at the price points and at this point was in a bad mood. Then I saw this dress.
Now 24.99 for a used dress is outside of my zone of acceptable price points. BUT..... it fit me AMAZINGLY and I loved it. But as I was trying it on the price tag fell off. They told me they could not sell it and it would have to go back to the back and be priced and be back on the floor within 48 hours. I explained I was from outside the country and would have no chance to be back and the manager took it back to get it repriced. Then it came back at a completely different price! WHAT THE HECK?? 12.99! So yay for me. BUT............ When I got home I realized I somehow left the belt behind! Will have to get/find a satin belt to go with it! BAH!!
So all in all Goodwill was not a total bust. But next I went to the Salvation Army. Now I don't think I mentioned it in my last post but Salvation Army locations in NYC no longer have any fitting rooms. So be prepared for that! But thats ok. I was DETERMINED to find some gems here
Now ALL tags except blue ones were half off.
I really love the colour of this polo shirt. And .99 for a Juicy polo?
Now this skirt fits perfectly. But its a bad length. If it was 2 inches longer... So my plan is to get it hemmed to just below the knees. In MY world skirts need to be just grazing the knee or just grazing the ground. At 5 foot 3 I find just above the ankle a really really bad length.
Yes, you are seeing correctly. A Sisley blazer for 6.49! SCORE!!! LOVE the fit, the charcoal grey, the subtle pin stripes. LOVE!!
A really great Cashmere sweater for 2.49. Very similar to the one I got at the Goodwill Clearance Outlet (not quite as soft but this is still a great quality one) but a few shades lighter!
This was the only item I got that was NOT half off. But a great big comfy Theory T for 2.99? I was not going to worry it was not half off!
And while I dont often buy shoes second hand these were great! Brand new, 4.99 and not only cute (I think!) but super comfortable!
So 21.42 at Salvation Army and 12.99 at Goodwill made for a great morning! And an afternoon of great food and friends made it a perfect day!
How the heck do you find all these gems?!
