Ceramic Glaze Into The NIght Holographic Collection And Swatches

So I picked up the entire Ceramic Glaze collection at Shoppers Drug Mart last week. OK. That was a lie .I picked up TWO entire collections of the Ceramic Glaze Into The Night Holographic Collection last week. One set for me, one set to split up for a few exchanges I am doing right now.

Now while these colours are nice, I don't think I would call them holographic. More like metallics or foils with a holographic shimmer? They are nice, and they do have some holographic shimmer but they aren't really out and out holographic!

Dance Til Dawn is a pinky-purple foil with holographic shimmer. I think this is more purple than pink, but for pink haters out there like me, it definitely is close enough to a pink for me to see it as pink.

I'm a VIP is a dark plum metallic shade loaded with holographic glitter. A great deep dark purple with a shimmer that is gorgeous!

Exclusive Invite is a........... colour I cant even describe. Its not grey, its not brown, its not purple. Its a brown that looks almost grey or purple in some lights, or its a grey that leans brown or purple in some lights. I dont know! Its different, its unique, and its got a great holo shimmer in it, though they all really do.

Going To The After Party is a slightly blackened navy blue shade. Its certainly a blue, but so dark it almost looks like a grey or black from afar.

DJ Play My Song was the worst of the collection. Its a slightly blue tinged silver. Its the only one that is really streaky. It dries down more so most of the streaks aren't as visible in real life as they are in these photos, but it is still slightly streaky.

All in all, while I really like most of these polishes, they aren't quite holographic enough for me to call them a true holographic collection. More like heavy holographic shimmer. They are nice though! The wear is good, and overall I would say if you are able to handle the 10.99 price tag, then pick them up! But maybe pass on the DJ Play My Song!

These will be available at Shoppers Drug Marts nationwide through the end of October!

Dior Holiday 2013 Palettes

So it seems like some of the first sneak peeks at Dior Holiday has floated online. I have ZERO information about theses, but here are the pics I managed to get my hands on. Personally, I am not into entire face palettes. I HATE when powders are mixed with creams, and it also doesn't my OCD about my stashwhen the palettes are in different shapes and cases.

Ive never purchased any of these holiday sets before, but if the one with the polish wasn't pink, I think that would be the one for me to pick up!

Urban Decay Holiday 2013 Palettes, Sets and Products

Image taken off of Urban Decay's Facebook Page!

Ok, so for Holiday 2013 Urban Decay executives got together and thought "how do we steal all of Shayna's money this season?". Let me tell you, they did a freaking AWESOME job!

First, let me show you the things I want need to get. First up, the Vice 2 Palette! Retailing for 59.00 which I can only assume means it will be $153 Canadian. Ok, I kid, but seriously? My guess is this will set us back about $70. STILL NEED!

Colours include:

Next up, the Black Market set of 6 24/7 Pencils. Urban Decay pencils are my FAVORITE. And the only pencils I use (or at least 95% of the time!). These are not full sized but are .03 oz instead of .04 oz. Sp you get 75% of the product of a full sized one. So you get over 4.5 full pencils worth of product for $36 US (I am guessing about $45 here) which is still less than the cost of 2! I WILL be picking this set up! Contains:
  • West - Dark brown pearl (New & Exclusive)
  • Desperation - Deep taupe-gray matte
  • Black Market - Charcoal black satin (New & Exclusive)
  • Riot - Smoky gray matte with violet and fuchsia micro-sparkle (New & Exclusive)
  • Apathy - Metallic olive green shimmer (New & Exclusive)
  • Ink - Deep navy blue satin (New & Exclusive)

And then THIS set! The Ocho Loco 2 Set. I missed out on the last Ocho Loco set last year that had 4 exclusive shades, and you can sure bet I will NOT be missing out on this set with FIVE new and exclusive shades! These are all full sized and at $59 (again, I am guessing $70 here) the value is amazing. These retail for $23 here, so this entire set is a $184 value. Oh, wait. They also include a full sized Grind House sharpener. Seriously, if you dont have the Grind House, get it. The BEST sharpener on the market. Cuts through the new plastic of the NYX Jumbo liners like butter! So add that $12 and you get a full value of $196!
  • Roach - Deep copper brown shimmer
  • Twice - Baked Rich brown satin with gold micro-sparkle (New & Exclusive)
  • Crave - Deepest, darkest brown-black matte (New & Exclusive)
  • Perversion - Blackest black matte
  • Deep End - Bright metallic peacock shimmer
  • Mars Bright - metallic green shimmer (New & Exclusive)
  • Ultraviolet - Bright blue-violet shimmer (New & Exclusive)
  • Tornado - Dark eggplant pearl (New & Exclusive)

Other items in the collection that are NOT on my shopping list are Anarchy Face Case ($44.00), Shattered Face Case ($44.00), Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder ($29.00) and the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($19.00 each). All prices are in US and will be considerably more here!

  • Roman Candle - clear base with pink holographic glitter
  • Sparkler - clear base filled with silver holographic glitter
  • Catherine Wheel - clear base filled with gold holo glitter
  • Rocket - clear base filled with red holographic glitter

Nails Inc Spring/Summer 2013 Collection - Swatches

So I picked up three of the polishes from the Spring/Summer collection from Nails Inc. collection. Actually, I picked up two. I did not get St James Park (a bright pink! NO THANKS!!) and as I found out when I got home, here in Canada, our displays did not have Royal Botanical Gardens (a mint) but instead had a polish from the regular line, Haymarket instead. Kind of bummed we miss out on the new spring colour, but I did pick up the mint they did have.

Let me start with Kensington Palace Gardens. This colour I swear keeps changing on me. It was (I swear I am not crazy) a bright coral colour when I picked it up in store. Then I got it home and it was a bright pastel pink that was gross looking. And somehow now its a pink leaning salmon colour I cant decide what I think of it.

Chelsea Physic Garden is a creamy pastel blue colour. Not green enough to be a tiffany blue, but still slightly green leaning.

And this one, Haymarket, the polish that really isnt part of the collection. This one is a mint green colour that leans blue. Almost like a pastel teal colour? Certainly more blue than the typical green, but still a minty green shade.

Now I didnt think I had anything similar in my stash to Haymarket, but Blueberry Bubblegum from Ceramic Glaze sure is close! Just about a shade darker and slightly (and I really do mean slightly) less green tinged and more blue.

Lise Watier Chic Tartan For Autumn 2013

Chic Tartan is from the new Fall Collection from Lise Watier. I picked this one up at Shoppers Drug Mart, but I have seen it at London Drugs and am sure its also at PharmaPrix!

Chic Tartan is a cream polish with a super glossy finish! The polish is definitely on the thicker side, but one thin streaky coat followed by one thicker coat leaves your nails picture perfect! And if you are worried about the way its applying, wait to see how it dries! Its slightly bizarre but it kind of self corrects/levels itself out!

As for the colour, its a grey, but its not a grey. Its a bluey/greeney/teal in some lights. Its certainly a grey leaning blue/green, not a greyed out green or blue, but its got MORE of the blue/green look than your traditional grey polishes. Just enough to make it a little more interesting than your average colour!

Just for an example, next to Ceramic Glaze Leather Mini (a dark blackish grey) you can see how much more blue it looks. Yet at the same time, its not the OBVIOUS blue grey of say a Dior Bond Street.

New Orly Matte FX Collection For Autumn 2013

I am totally digging these polishes! Maybe its because I am a total matte polish whore, but regardless, these are available now and I WANT THEM!

Ok, maybe I can skip the flakies. I am kind of over those. But matte polishes? YES PLEASE!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily - A Dead On DUPE!

Ok everyone! Here is a post that I bet you wouldn't expect from me! EVERYONE here knows that I think RBL is a four letter word. I think Ji (please note, these are my opinions and not facts) is one of the most immature, rude, and inappropriate business women I have ever come across, I think she is a terrible excuse for a person, and I have ZERO urge to help promote her line or brand in any way shape or form. If you are new to my blog and are shocked at these statements or wondering why I am saying that, just click on the rescue beauty lounge tag below this post or on my side bar and you can read all about it.

But anyways, if anyone's still lemming Aqua Lily, check out your local Gap! Meg took these pictures and while there might be some slight difference in the photos, in real life the polishes look exactly the same! The Gap polish in 'Bright Pool' is an exact dupe and better yet, the formula is good! Two coats for full coverage. The best part is quite possibly the cost - $6 (and currently on sale for 40% off.)

So while I am not big on posting polishes from Ji (even if they are pretty - which I must admit many of her polishes are. I had quite a few before I gave em all away), when I can steer you all towards a perfect dupe at a great price, Im all for it!

Aqua Lily is on Meg's index finger, Bright Pool on her middle.

Products I've Used Up!

Hello all! I am slightly ill at ease posting this so nervous I am completely nauseous. If you have been a long time blog reader (or even a new reader) you might have noticed the cloak of invisibility I have successfully borrowed from Harry Potter. I have never been IN FRONT of the camera. The odd hair photo has my face totally blocked out, and the odd lip photo is JUST my lips. So posting a video with me IN FRONT of the camera is a big step for me.

So here we go! I hope you guys enjoy it. can forgive my arms which apparently flap around like I am having a seizure through the entire video!
