So IMATS is coming up faster than I can fully except. Less than a week away! AND I CAN'T WAIT! Now as you all know I tend to stick to high end makeup much more than drugstore versions. To start with, it actually costs a lot less to buy one $40 blush a month than to buy 10 $6 blushes a month! But the biggest thing is I have become spoiled by the quality of high end makeup. I have some drugstore items in my stash, but for the most part, the quality does not compare. Again, I do have some drugstore items I love and you couldn't trade me a Dior or YSL version if you tried to have me give them up. But in general, I will take Guerlain, Hourglass or Dior over Revlon or Maybelline any day.
Maybe that is why I have avoided NYX. Or not really avoided, but just kind of ignored. That and living in Canada we pay 50% more and its much harder to find. And the selection is much less. But last time I was at IMATS (was it just a few months ago in LA? Seems like IONS!!) I was overwhelmed by the NYX display. And so I need your help!
What do I try? I love the Jumbo eyeliners/shadow pencils and want to get some lip ones this time. I also think I am going to pick up some mechanical lip pencils. The butter lipsticks are on the shopping list, along with............ WHAT ELSE?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment here with items I need to try! What do you love? Or what do you want me to try and review?
And here are some photos of the NYX booth at IMATS LA in January. It should give you an idea at the craziness and sheer volume of what they had, as well as the insane prices!! And this was just a VERY SMALL sampling!
Can you bring me back some butter balms? :P Those and the stick blushes look really nice.
ReplyDeleteI've never really looked at any NYX prodicts. The price for the eye liners and eye pencils looks really good.
ReplyDeleteSoft matte lip creams (if you like that sort of look) and the butter glosses. I feel like I have heard people say good things about the stick blush as well.
ReplyDeleteI second the matte lip creams if you like matte lipstick. I really didn't like the butter balm, but I adore the butter lipsticks and lip glosses (although I normally HATE lip gloss).
DeleteSkip the eye shadows. They're good for drugstore, but don't hold up compared to high end IMO.
I can't wait to see what you get!
I would try the eye pencils, lip balm & the eye lashes. Great prices!!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about the butter lipsticks, balms and glosses. NYX is really overwhelming to me as well, so many products.
ReplyDeleteThe wonder pencil is great. I used. It as a lip liner and concealer for small areas.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried anything either but people rave about the butter glosses but..at those prices it wouldn't hurt to try
ReplyDeleteI love NYX butter glosses. They are worth it.
ReplyDeleteAlso the NYX eyeliners are as fantastic as UD ones.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried NYX but omg so much makeup!!
ReplyDeleteIf you are in western Canada, Save On Foods sell this line, as does Rexall.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are pretty but everything I've looked at is made in China. I won't buy any make up made in the PRC.
Then Stila, Revlon and many others are out of the question for you. I dont mind made in China. But no, we dont have Save on Foods here, Only a few of our rexalls cary the line, and those that do have very limited expensive selections.
DeleteLiquid eye liners, lipsticks, eye shadow primer, and balms.
ReplyDeleteThe butter glosses are amazing, my favourite shade is 'creme brûlée'. One of my favourite lip glosses ever! The jumbo eye shadow pencils don't have the best lasting power.
ReplyDeleteThe HD eye shadow primer is supposed to be really good, comparable to Lorac. Also, I really like their setting spray.
ReplyDeleteThe NYX powder blushes are amazing! The cream blushes are awesome too if you are into cream blushes. I love all of NYX's lip products I have tried - Soft Matte Lip Creams, Butter Glosses, Butter Lipsticks, Matte Lipsticks, Mega Shine Glosses...they are all awesome!
