Bronzers Comparison Swatches!

When swatching the lighter of the two shades of Julep bronzing powder I thought it was too dark for me.

Now from left to right is the Julep Pore Minimizing Bronzer in Light Golden Bronze, Guerlain Terracotta Mineral Flawless Bronzing Powder in 01 Light, Clarins Summer Fever Blush Soaleil Sun Blush in 00 Copper Sun, Guerlain Terra Inca Sublime Radiant Powder and Marc Jacobs Omega Bronze in 102 Tantric.

Now each one is swatched in the order shown above and with the exception of the Julep, each one is swatched REALLY heavily. Like 5-6 swipes of each. As you can see the Marc Jacobs and the Clarins ones are almost as dark as the Julep, but whereas those two are heavily built up with multiple swatches, the Julep one is swatched with only one swipe (though very heavily). So its just far more pigmented than the others. Its also so much softer (even than the Guerlain or Clarins powders) and thus....... it sounds weird to say the pressed blush is more powdery than the powdered mineral bronzers but it is.

Overall, I think its not as dark as I thought it was, its just so much more pigmented that its just far far too easy to get too much (that being said please don't think I would even try to put it on my face so heavily, its merely swatched like this to show you on the skin). I think if you are as pale as me it will be very hard to get a natural and subtle look with this but at the same time I think you certainly could. Overall, the Guerlain Mineral is certainly my favourite followed closely (ok, not SOO closely) by the Marc Jacobs. The Clarins is also a go too for me in the summer but it has a bit more of a satin as appose to matte finish that prevents it from being as much of a must have.

Top Secret, DryWash & More

So today on Zulily is Troll, Top Secret and Drywash all in the same private sale page! I have to say I wanted far more than I got and kept putting things and taking things out of my shopping cart. In the end I got the above sweater from Troll marked down from $84 to $24.99. Below are two more tops from Troll and the last blouse and skirt are from Top Secret. I have a feeling I will regret only getting the sweater above, but it is what it is. I always have this fear of buying clothing online even though I am a fairly standard size M on top and size 8-12 for dresses with a 10 usually working for me. But anyways, totally digging most everything here and thought I would share it.

And if you are, go check out the Top Secret, Drywash & More sale and let me know what you think!

Courreges Collection for Estee Lauder Spring 2015

Cosmonauts, satellites, missiles to the moon. Unprecedented advancement and achievement underwrote the inaugural period of intergalactic exploration that came to be known as the Space Age of the early-1960s. When a culture of futurism subsequently consumed the era, there were two names firmly in the vanguard: Estée Lauder and André Courrèges. She, a beauty industry innovator whose “every woman can be beautiful” mantra was ahead of its time; he, a fashion force whose avant-garde aesthetic broke all the style rules by injecting an air of playfulness, movement, and egalitarianism into every one of his haute couture collections. Visionaries both, their brands have now joined together to pioneer a new interpretation of color. Introducing Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection: a limited edition collection of zero-gravity shades that draws on a shared point of view on color, beauty and the resolution to never stop moving forward.

Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection is a 13-piece limited edition line that marries the floating-on-air feeling of an embellished Courrèges mini dress, and the punched-up precision of Estée Lauder’s progressive product design, seen through the Courrèges lens. The formulations were designed to be surprising in their lightness, in their sensorial delivery, their translucency, reflectivity, and in their pop-y palette. They are an invitation to have fun with color, texture and special effects while defying the confines of nostalgia by creating a look that is wholly of today.

Included in this collection is:
  • Lip Visor in See-Through and Coral Mini
  • Super Gloss in Rosy Future
  • Super Lashes
  • Eye Amplifier in Aqua Silver and Black Silver
  • Eye Glide Pencil in Silver Streak
  • Iridescent Ball Highlighter
  • Lip + Cheek Ball in Ultra Pink
  • Ultra White EyeLiner in Lunar White
  • Illuminations Face Powder
  • Hair Mascara
  • Kabuki Brush

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush In 160 Innocence

I picked up this blush quite a while ago but this is the first time I have opened it!

I have to say, Innocence is not what I thought it would be, and while a bit more shimmery than I would prefer, still a lovely natural shade!

Dual-Intensity Blushes for NARS Spring 2015

Sweeps on dry for a bold flush or wet for a translucent wash of color. Dry pigments impart a natural glow that warms the complexion and fuses weightlessly. Dampen NARS’ exclusive Wet/Dry Blush Brush before application for a watercolor effect—dab over the apples of the cheeks and swirl in a circular motion to paint on a subtle tint. Designed in a sensorial, soft-touch square case with a modern magnetic closure, six luxuriously embossed duos heighten the art of transformation.
These come out on March 4th and I am drooling. NARS makes AMAZING blushes, and I cant wait to try these! I am sure I will need AT LEAST two of them!!

Hot Collection For Bobbi Brown Spring 2015

The new Hot Collection from Bobbi Brown is on sale now at Sephora. The blush palettes are $52 and the shadow palette is $76. The Art Sticks which I have played around with and never bought (but LOVE) are $30. I have to say, I am getting much better at NOT buying things and am at the point where I really think I have more than enough of most everything. So while I am totally digging everything and a year ago would not have hesitated to say I need em all! the truth is that right now, I think I am really only looking at getting one of these blush palettes!

Deborah Lippmann 15th Anniversary Set - Swatched
