MASCARA MONDAY: Maybelline's Limited Edition Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara In Blue Blaze

This was a mascara that was limited edition and came out, oh........ 16 months ago. This came out in January of 2014 here and I picked it up about 5 months ago on clearance. This is the shade Blue Blaze. Now I had never tried any of the Maybelline Colossal mascaras before and figured I would try it out. It was $3 I think.

Blue blaze is more a steal blue shade. ALmost a gunmetal shade with blue tinge. And I actually love the shade.

I find black in general is too harsh on me and this shade is great. It certainly doesn't look blue but its nice. And it builds so easily and effortlessly.

Three coats:

Four coats:

I actually really really like this mascara and am disappointed its no longer available. If any of you have a good dupe of this one, I am all ears. And if you can come up with a different mascara that has this or almost this shade, that would be even more amazing!!

Maybelline Master Prime Primers!

I have to say, I have not tried these at all yet or even seen them. I also have not been looking for them. That changes now. I have to say I am quite interested to try these out. I would love to put them up to the test alongside either the MUFE of smashbox ones! And OBVIOUSLY the green one would be the first one for me to grab!!

Have you guys tried any of these three primers? If so I would LOVE to know what you guys think of them! While not big on drugstore beauty in general, there are definitely gems out there and great budget finds. And of the drugstore products I do have, the big winners have been Maybelline. I do love the Instant Age Rewind Eraser (the brightening one) and the color tattoos!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather Shadows in Creamy Beige, Vintage Plum & Chocolate Suede

I picked these up recently. At $10.99 each, they are more than I WANT to spend for drugstore single shadows, but they work fabulously and I have been impressed with them in the past, so I figured I would give these a try. They are supposed to be permanent.

The only one I thought could swatch better was the one I was most excited for (Vintage Plum). Creamy Beige performs fantastically, but the stand out is really the Chocolate Suede. Which is also the one i am least likely to use much.

Overall, they are fantastic though, great wear, great pigment, and as good as the aqua shadows from Makeup Forever in my opinion! If you check these out, please let me know what you think! I think the normal ones are good, but these seem better than most of the others from the line (non leather ones I mean!)

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Collection

Oops. I think I accidentally bought the entire collection. How did I do that?

Let me start by saying that Crystal Kiss is colourless. If it doesnt show up on my glow in the dark white skin, its not showing up anywhere. Gleaming Coral is also fairly colourless as was Bean Of Blush. The most pigmented was also the ugliest, being Twinkling Taupe. As a lip balm with a bit of shimmer these are fine. As a touch of colour, there are much better out there.

From left to right - Crystal Kiss, Gleaming Coral, Pink Quartz, Beam Of Blush, Mirrored Mauve and Twinkling Taupe.

Maybelline Baby Lips Limited Edition Pink'ed Collection!

Now this is the Maybelline Baby Lips Limited Edition Pink'ed Collection which came out in march. I had given up all hope of finding these, when they popped up in the new Maybelline Crystal baby lips display! There was no 105 Blush Burst, but at least I got 4 of the 5 in the collection. They are also the most pigmented of any of the baby lips I have tried up until this point.

Now the only store I have seen these ones at is Shoppers Drug Mart and it was on a big floor display that stood 5 feet tall. So if you were like me and had given up hope of finding them on this side of the border, hope is not lost!

Maybelline New York Master Glaze Blush Sticks - Swatched!

I was super excited when these Maybelline Masster Glaze By Face Studio Blush Sticks were introduced. As you guys know, it takes a LOT to get me excited about a drugstore product, but I was willing to put aside the HORRENDOUS fail that the Revlon Baby Sticks were  and give these a go. But I was disappointed in the colour selection. Not a lot of colours that stood out to me. The ONLY one that interested me at all was Just Pinched Pink. So I grabbed it and while I didnt like it, I didnt DISLIKE it. For some reason never made the blog.

Insert a new summer limited edition into the mix and there is a second colour that interested me! YAY! So I picked up Enchanting Apricot and figured I would take the time to show you both of them now.

This one is Just Pinched Pink. Its a not very light, but not too dark/bright rosy pink. While it is supposed to be a sheer blush, its quite a thick/wet stick so you have to be careful as its easy to get far more colour than intended. With a gentle hand it can be very pretty, though it never dries completely (guess thats how it gives you the luminous glow they talk about) so I suggest setting it with a finishing powder.

This one is the limited edition one. Its Enchanting Apricot. Why did I pick this up when I didn't really like the first one? Don't ask me. They aren't bad. They just don't wear so wonderfully, they dont dry down and they are a bit too shimmery for my liking. But not overly shimmering. But yes, anyways, I picked up another shade figuring I would try again. This one is even dewy-er (is that a word??) than the first one, and its a bit more shimmery. So while it glides on nice, the formula is even more disappointing than the first. I have NO IDEA why I picked it up. But the shade called out to me. Yes, I am a sick, sick girl! As its name says, its a slightly too shimmery for me Apricot shade.

And here is the pink one swatched side by side the new apricot toned one. So if you have not been able to find the limited edition ones yet, you can see the difference. Its more shimmery as you can see, and its a good 4 shades darker (aside from the obvious one is pink one is apricot).

Maybelline Baby Lips Limited Edition Pink'ed Collection!

So it seems to be that there are five new Baby Lips on the market. They come in 5 shades, 105 blush burst, 110 pop of pink, 115 mad for magenta, 120 rose rush and 125 very berry which all seem to be shades of pink (thus the name of the collection). These are described as having a hint of pink so they are probably not going to be as pigmented as some of them, but they are new, they are pink and I need them. Well, all of them but the rose one. HATE ROSE.

Now I could not find a promo shot of these ANYWHERE but I did find this image on ebay. I hope that they are not stolen from a blogger! And I will certainly be on the look out for these in NYC or in Vegas! (yes, the countdown is on!). So if you guys like these, let me know! And if there is anything else in the US I should be on the lookout for at IMATS, or simply in Walgreens, Rite Aid or Duane Reade let me know! I sadly wont be near ANY Ulta stores!

What I'm Wishing For These Days

So I was just looking over my never ending supply of cosmetics and it struck me. How can I have sooooo much and yet still want as much as I do? The cosmetic industry keeps coming out with new things faster than I can pick them up, and faster than I will ever use them. I am trying to limit my stash these days. Yet my wish list still looks like this:

Yup. Its a fact. My wishlist will NEVER end. Sigh.....

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Collection

Now I am hesitant to write this blog post. I fear this is going to be another L'oreal Versaille Collection all over again. Let me just state this now. If these do not come here to Canada, I am going to go all crazy on Maybelline's ass. And do you know what a crazy beauty blogger looks like when she is told for the umpteenth time that the item she wants is not available where she lives? Lets just say its not pretty and leave it at that!

Thats right! NEON Baby Lips. Which I am hoping translates to something more akin to the Loreal Color Riche Balms. I love the formula of the Baby Lips, I just wish they had a bit more colour in them! And yet not quite as much as the lip butters. Well, this might be the answer!!

From Left to right, Pink Shock, Fierce and Tangy, Berry Bomb, Oh Orange and Minty Sheer. The 6th one, shown in the promo image at the top, but not the second one is Strike A Rose.

I need these! At least the ones that dont smell like Rose. YUK! I HATE Rose!!!

Have you guys seen these yet? Please everyone, lets start a Canadian lookout group! Let me know if you see these anywhere!!!!!!!!!! Will you be picking these up?

Limited Edidion Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows For Summer 2013 - Swatched

I have had a love at first try experience with the Maybelline cream shadows. They wear like iron, even on my oily lids, They apply beautifully and they are some of the best formulated cream shadows I have ever tried. I wouldn't say I like them MORE than the Shiseido or Chanel ones, but I think they are on par! Not something you will usually hear form me! I LOVE THESE! I just wish I had found them last year as I am dying for the light creamy beige one from the fall 2012 limited edition colours!

So the summer limited edition colours have landed in Canada. Good, and bad. Good because they are here, bad because we are only getting three out of the entire collection. I knew I wanted two and thankfully they both were two of the three that came! I figured it would be rude to split up siblings, so I was really being..... generous and thoughtful when I picked up all of them!

20 Waves of White when in the pot looks like a slightly off white shadow with an iridescent looking green duochrome.

When swatched it is insanely iridescent. So much so that I worry it will not be a colour I will feel comfortable wearing.

While if you look closely you can see a very shear whitish base, its really just iridescent. VERY iridescent. Its like a green/pink/blue shimmer that reminds me of a swarovski crystal.

10 Precious Pearl in the jar looks like a yellowy taupey colour. Basically a very dull pale gold colour.

For comparison, here it is next to barely branded. I have and love barely branded. But last week I bought (or thought I bought) the taupe colour, opened it up, and saw this, did a double take, and realized I grabbed the wrong one. So now I have a backup for me, or more likely my mom who uses this as a base every single day.

On the skin it as a very noticble pink shimmer to it. That along with the pale gold base makes it look like a dull yellow tinged rose gold. I actually really like this one and think it might be the favourite for me.

30 Icy Mint is a pale greenish blue colour. Both in the jar and on the skin it reminds me of the dior icy dew colour. Its a very nice colour, that I am still not sure if I will wear, but I am hoping it is neutral enough for it to be a colour that is not TOO far outside my comfort zone. I just have to force myself to wear it!

To me these three at least feel much more like a winter wonderland type of theme, and not a summer collection but I really do like them!
