Shine Lover Vibrant Shine Lipsticks For Lancome Spring 2015

These intrigue me. I have to say I am NOT digging the packaging at all though. Not a deal breaker when it comes to makeup, but certainly a disappointment. These will be out in March at Lancome counters and the price is $25USD so I am assuming about $28 here in Canada though that is merely a guess.

These are supposed to be a hybrid. A cross between a lipgloss and a lipstick. I am all bout sheer colour but find two big issues. The first is moisturizing or balm like usually translates in to very short wearing on the lips and a continuous need to reapply. The other issue I find is that I like sheer, but they can be so sheer they are either unseen on the lips, or look all the same on the lips. I like the feel and the tint of two of the four new balms benefit came out with last year but they smell like rose (worst smell on the planet in my very biased view) but find the other two near invisible on the lips. So I am left wondering if these are going to be more of the same.

My hope for these is that they will be similar in texture and maybe just a tad less of the opacity of the Revlon Lip Butters. Already online at Nordstrom, I hope to see some swatches and reviews before they show up here in the coming weeks! If you have tried these, or plan to, let me know your thoughts!

Le Duo Contour & Highlighter Stick For Lancome Spring 2015

Because every single brand on the planet is now making highlighting and contouring products, here is yet another. Not yet in Canada, it retails for $36 in the USA and seems to be up on pretty much every American department store website as well as the American Lancome site. 

Use this dual-ended stick to effortlessly and instantly enhance your favorite features. Use the contour shade to add definition and the highlighting shade to illuminate your face.

Three different looks to add depth and definition where you want it:

- Chisel your cheeks: Beginning at the top of your ear, apply the contour following the line directly underneath your cheekbone. Use the highlighter in a half moon shape, starting at the top of your temple and following down the top of the cheekbone. Blend shades to create a faux glow and defined cheek bones.

- Sculpt your nose: Draw a line with the contour side of the stick down both sides of the nose. It's important to blend so it looks natural. To add more dimension or length, highlight down the bridge of the nose.

- Define your jaw: Contour along the jawline on both sides of the face, starting at the edge of the jaw toward the chin. Blend well for a softly defined jawline; add highlight to the chin to balance the sculpted jaw.

Unlike the Limited Edition Lancome set I showed you earlier today, this one is NOT $1300. Its only $500. I am sadly not joking. Its $500. Also, unlike the last set, this one looks cheap and ugly to me. It truly to me looks like a bag you would buy at a dollar store. Now many will disagree with me I am sure, but a round bubblegum pink fanny pack? I certainly don't get this set. But I am sure there will be those who love it. Now this set is gorgeous. No one can deny that. And at $1300  it is also not cheap! But don't worry! It comes with free shipping!! Seriously though, this limited edition set is GORGEOUS and I would seriously be lemming this hardcore (lemming, not buying) but for the Lancome logo on the outside of the bag. It seems a silly little detail to focus on, but at $1300 for a clutch (a gorgeous one) I would want it to be a high end clutch. I could more easily justify (not that I would buy it) the bag if it would look like the high end bag it is. But to add a Lancome logo to the outside to me cheapens the bag making it look more like a gift with purchase.

The new Lancome collection for this season is gorgeous. They are not shades that call my name or draw me in (except the first palette directly after this paragraph) but what really stands out to me is how fricken gorgeous the model is. She is seriously stunning. This collection is out now!

These seem to always be available, year after year at Selfridges (A UK department store that DOES ship worldwide as far as I know) but yet I have never seen them on this side of the pond. Frustrating to see all these great sets come out year after year in the UK and us to get nothing. I sometimes feel like us Canadians are the most ignored in the beauty world. Yes, we get Bay and Holt Renfrew exclusives, but they are always available at Nordstroms or elsewhere in the United States. When are WE going to get an exclusive just for us?!

Anyways, as with most things coming for the UK, these are not cheap. At £54.00 that works out to just about $98 so I cant imagine anyone here actually ordering these and shipping them here. Would work out after shipping to about $25 per cracker or per sample! EEK!
