Bobbi Brown Blush in 33 Pastel Pink

This blush was purchased for one reason and one reason only. It was intended to be a dupe for my beloved Nars Sex Fantasy Blush that is limited edition and that I am far closer to hitting pan on than I care to admit.

Let me just start with I FAILED!!!!!!!!!!!! It is not at all a dupe. Its nice, don't get me wrong. And if I had not gotten so excited when I found it thinking it would be dupe I would probably be professing my love for this blush right now. You know, what, I will. I really DO love this blush. Its just not the magic fix I expected it to be.

And here you can see it next o my NARS one. I like this picture of the NARS blush because you can not at all tell there is a BIG dip in it!

Anyways, overall, I really do like this blush. And I can see it being my go to blush on the sad day that I run out of my NARS one. But until then, I can not see myself reaching for this one too much. Its close enough to my go to one that I would likely choose the NARS when I want this subtle everyday look. And when I want a different look, this is not different enough for me to grab.

Hot Collection For Bobbi Brown Spring 2015

The new Hot Collection from Bobbi Brown is on sale now at Sephora. The blush palettes are $52 and the shadow palette is $76. The Art Sticks which I have played around with and never bought (but LOVE) are $30. I have to say, I am getting much better at NOT buying things and am at the point where I really think I have more than enough of most everything. So while I am totally digging everything and a year ago would not have hesitated to say I need em all! the truth is that right now, I think I am really only looking at getting one of these blush palettes!

The shades included are: Pink Sparkle (light pink shimmer), Smokey Topaz (brown heather mauve) and Espresso Bean (rich black charcoal with a slight shimmer).

Surf And Sand Collection For Bobbi Brown Summer 2014

So here is the new collection from Bobbi Brown. Nothing in it is screaming at me NEED, but I can admit that if the palettes packaging was different the neutral one might have been a need

Raw Sugar Collection For Bobbi Brown Summer 2014

The new Bobbi Brown Summer collection is out, and while the tinted lip balms look interesting, I must say overall this just seems so....... done already by the brand. I am not quite sure what I was hoping for expecting, maybe its because I am not so much a fan of the shimmer bricks and this palette is one big shimmer brick? I know its for the eyes and not the face, but I just want to yawn when I see this. Sigh.......

What do you guys think? Do you love anything? Did you get anything? Want anything? Or are you simply like me and not feeling this?

The Cosmetic Market Haul!

After posting my video of the Cosmetic Market I was asked again and again to show everyone what I got. I am quite proud of myself for getting such a small lot of stuff but am now kind of regretting it. I certainly have regrets for quite a few items I had talked myself out of!

First thing I got was John Frieda Full Repair Root Lift Foam. I have used this a few times and so far I really like it. It gives volume without weighing down the hair. It retails for $9 at Walmart and for $3.99 I think it was a good deal!

Becca Sheer Stick Foundation is a tad too dark for me (stupid store lighting) but I think in the summer when I am a shade darker (I only get a shade darker and thats if I am lucky) it will work well. It retails for $34 and I got it for $8.99.

The last thing I got was this Bobbi Brown lipstick. My biggest complaint about the store are these security stickers they put on EVERYTHING. I was stunned that the Becca foundation didnt have it on it (though happily so) and at least on this lipstick it was easy to remove with some nail polish remover.

The shade is a pink coral with warm undertones but its a little more sheer than I had anticipated. That being said, I still like the colour and it feels great on the lips.

L’Wren Scott For Bobbi Brown Spring 2014

Maybe its just me, but the packaging on this turns me off. I know I am the freak when it comes to packaging. Most people LOVE the MAC collections that are themed like the barbie, archie, or villians collections. I think it makes the products look cheap. Its a weird OCD me thing. I KNOW THAT. I like the look of the standard black and white Bobbi Brown packaging. I find these "special" ones just end up looking like you went to the makeup section of the toy store to shop. Ok, I will shut up now and wait for the verbal flogging I am sure to get in the comment section below!

Otherwise, I think the colour selection is pretty, and aside from the fact that there is a cream product in the palette, I like the entire collection. And since it seems all I have done in this post is bitch, WHY OH WHY do companies insist on putting a creme product in a powder palette. Seriously?! I have not purchased the Bon Jovi palette from The Balm for that very reason. And at least they try to pretend to separate them. The design of this palette is nothing short of stupid and I might have overlooked the packaging to pick this up as I am on a big purple kick lately, but for the creme product in the centre.

I will end my cranky rant here and leave you all with pretty pictures.

Sephora Online Window Shopping!

So I was just browsing on the Sephora website and oh my do they have some new fantastic sets and items that I want!

Ive already shared with you the images of this Lippmann set from Wicked and will have to be sure to pick it up shortly! It WILL be mine!

Oh wow! I have never tried Tarte products before and I have been interested in the Amazonian Clay shadows and blushes for ages now! And this set seems AMAZING! At a price of $71 it would have to be amazing to make me debate getting it, and I am seriously considering it! In this set is
  • 20 x .07 oz Limited-Edition Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows
  • 8 x .059 oz Deluxe Maracuja Lipglosses
  • 0.23 oz Deluxe Pure Maracuja Oil
  • 0.08 oz Deluxe Maracuja C-Brighter™ Eye Treatment
  • 0.05 oz Deluxe Limited-Edition Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush in Memorable
  • 0.17 oz Deluxe Cheek Stain in Flush
  • 0.16 oz Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-In-1 Mascara
  • Travel Makeup Bag

Limited Edition and online only, this Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette screams my name as loudly as a palette can! At $60 its reasonable, but the Lorac Pro Palette below might just be edging it out for the simple reason that this looks like every other palette I already own! But then again, its as "me" a palette as you can get!

I have really been lemming this palette hard ever since I saw a YouTube review by MakeupByTiffany. At $55 it just might be the first of these sets (other than the Lippmann Wicked set) that I pick up!

To be honest, I am kind of over the whole Philosophy 3-1 scents. I dont think they lather that well, the scents dont linger and they are merely ok. But I really want to try these salt body scrubs and for $35 I get this nice set!!

And while this last set doesn't interest me AT ALL, I know a lot of you will love it, so I thought I would share a Sephora Lippmann Exclusive! Not a bad deal for $22!

  • 0.27oz Nail Lacquer in She Bop (fresh pink crème finish)
  • 0.27oz Nail Lacquer in Happy Birthday (silver/multicolor glitter finish)
  • Happy Birthday glitter bag 4”(W) x 1 3/4"(D) x 3”(H)

What I'm Wishing For These Days

So I was just looking over my never ending supply of cosmetics and it struck me. How can I have sooooo much and yet still want as much as I do? The cosmetic industry keeps coming out with new things faster than I can pick them up, and faster than I will ever use them. I am trying to limit my stash these days. Yet my wish list still looks like this:

Yup. Its a fact. My wishlist will NEVER end. Sigh.....

Navy & Nude Collection For Bobbi Brown Summer 2013

Blue nail polish and nude eyeshadows. I think Bobbi Brown has been sneaking in to my dreams at night! If this is not a collection of my dreams, what is?

This polish may be called navy, but it looks like a gorgeous blue in the promo pics. If its truly a blue and not a navy, I may need this. I wonder how close it is to Dior Denim....... Hmm......
