Sephora Black Friday Deals!

In previous years I want to say the black friday deals were $12 here and $10 in the USA. I could be wrong, but I feel fairly certain of that. This year, they are still $10 in the USA but they are $13 here. To be fair, our dollar is much weaker than it was in the last few years so I can't complain about that. And here are all the sets. There are a LOT of them this year!

So the big question is, what are you guys getting?

COVER FX Custom Cover Drops

This is an interesting new product from Cover FX. This is  described as a custom formula that you can build up or sheer out to your hearts content. It is intended to mix it with your your own moisturizers, serums, oils or primers to create your own tinted moisturizer. Its not supposed to matter if its water, silicone or oil based. The product is said to bond with whatever product you mix it with to seamlessly combine in to new custom product for you. At $44 its not cheap, but it is interesting and I am looking forward to trying it. Its already online at Sephora but I really hope it comes to Shoppers Drug Mart soon!

What it is:
A dropper with concentrated pigments for convenient customization of any product in your beauty regimen, allowing you to control the level of coverage.

What it does:
From a sheer tint to total coverage, Custom Cover Drops lets you achieve your desired coverage. Blend it with anything liquid to create your desired coverage, including moisturizers, serums, oils, primers, foundations, and tinted moisturizers that are water-, oil-, or silicone-based. These revolutionary drops feature Flash Fusion Technology™, so as soon as you drop, it leaves behind pigment that weightlessly transforms your favorite beauty product into the sheerest tint or a total coverage foundation. Simply adjust your coverage by the number of drops you add. The pigments are coated with lecithin, which is biochemically similar to the skin, to ensure seamless blending, precise control, and the smoothest application.

The Battle Of The Contour Kits. What Do You Do?

So right now, the battle of the contour kits is going on and its getting brutal. Everyone and their mother has come out with a kit and each one promises easy step by step instructions and fabulous results. The biggest problem though is that the set that is perfect for one person is not going to be for another. Its like trying to choose the best blush out there. Just because a ton of people love it, doesn't mean its the best one for your skin. So hear I sit. Paralyzed in the decision. Which one do I get? I honestly DONT know. I did just get this one as its cream and matte:

But which POWDER one do I get to try? I think the smashbox one will be too dark for me. And there is a too faced one, but since that includes BRONZERS (which are NOT contour powders at all) I have left that off the list all together. I freaking love everything Marc Jacobs has put out so far, so maybe that one? But the Kat Von D and Anastasia ones are also getting rave reviews!! HELP!! I will get one, POSSIBLY two but that is all. So please leave all your comments and feedback here with your recommendations and why. And keep in mind I am glow in the dark white!

Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation in N10 Review & Swatch

So while in Toronto for my brothers wedding an accident involving a glass foundation bottle, a small glass shelf in the bathroom and a late night for my very tired grandmother all led to the necessity of my going out for a 7am walk to find a new foundation to wear to all the wedding festivities. Sephora was not going to be open in time so I had to find a 24 hour or at least very early opening Shoppers Drug Mart.

The lightest shade N10 was actually quite nice for me and the application and feel on my skin was nice.

To give an idea of coverage, here is a birthmark that is on my arm.

And here is the birthmark with the foundation over it. I think the foundation blends out well, and the coverage is not bad. It wore well on my skin and felt light and comfortable. Overall, fora  $40 price tag, I was quite impressed and am happy to have it in my collection.
