Travelling Indie Nail Polish Box - Take Two

I am not sure if you remember or not, or if maybe you were not a follower of my blog at the time, but about 6 months backed I showed you all the indie polishes I chose out of the travelling indie box. So the way it works is there is a box FULL of indie brand polishes. And by full, I mean it had almost 100 polishes in it! The box gets sent to someone who takes out what they want, puts in what they want, and then seals the box back up and ships it to the next person. The box came to me on Friday afternoon. I got to pull out what I wanted, and this is what I got!

Nail Pattern Boldness - Flipping Out Hard
Painted Sabotage - Gargle Blaster
Ninja Polish - Girly Floam
Daring Diva - Master Shake

F4 - Mirror Ball
Pretty & Polished - Galax-E
Starry Earth - Sultans Daughter
Starry Earth - Candy Corn

Hare - Heat Plague
Hare - Amethystos
Emily De Molly - Simplicity
Gloss And Sparkle - Perpetual Darkness

KB Shimmer - Orange Pop
Rainbow Honey - Hoof Wrassle
Cult Nails - Annalicious
All That Glitters - Valentine Massacre

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer - Jordan
Candeo - Deep Space
Dollish Polish Flesh

Now the biggest problem I have is - WHAT ON EARTH DO I WEAR FIRST? Have you tried any of these? What do you think of them? Cant wait to hear your feedback!

Starry Earth A Most Peculiar Mademoiselle & Sultan's Daughter

Today I have two glitter polishes from Starry Earth. These retail for 8.00 each and can be purchased HERE.

First up is Sultan's Daughter. This is a glitter polish in a sheer blue base with shimmer. The glitter is pale blue and aqua hex glitter and is part of the Princess Collection. This polish was kind of gloopy. I found it overly thick and a little bit of a pain to deal with. That being said, its a GORGEOUS colour and not TOO gloopy or hard to deal with that I warn against it. It is pretty enough with a fast enough dry time to make me willing to over look the thick consistency.

Here is is swatched over one coat of black followed by two coats of Mermaid Elixir & 70% Chance Of Rain both by the same brand. So this is four total coats of polish. Black, 2 coats of either Mermaid Elixir (on the right) or 70% Chance Of Rain and then one coat of Sultan's Daughter.

Next up is A Most Peculiar Mademoiselle.  This one is a clear base packed with yellow and gold hex glitter. It was a better formula than the last one and applies rather smoothly. The base is thick, but not too thick. Its just the right suspension to hold the glitter and allow for easy application. Below is two coats of A Most Peculiar Mademoiselle and of Sultan's Daughter over white.

Sneak Peak: Starry Earth Candy Corn

I have a brand new polish to share with you all! It is part of the upcoming collection from Starry Earth. This is part of a 3 piece collection that will include:

  • Candy Corn - a glitter top coat with orange, yellow and white matte glitter with yellow and white micro glitter
  • Spooky Eyeball - a milky white base with matte red hex & shreds and black bars. It is also glow-in-the-dark.
  • Jack-o-Fright - a jelly-ish black base with micro black glitter, micro orange holo glitter and small matte orange hex.

I guess I really can't say anything more about this polish that is not in the description. This really is exactly as the description says. I will be showing you a couple  more glitters from Elizabeth but this is the best formula of the three glitters of hers I have. It is not too thick, not too thin, applies beautifully and is sheer enough that you really can decide just how opaque or not you want this to be.

This is two coats of Candy Corn. I really think that the little gold micro glitter just adds so much depth and interest to the polish. It really helps mesh and tie everything in this glitter together. I may hate candy corn (the candy) but really, it has never looked better than it does in this polish! I almost (but not quite) want to go eat some candy corn!

The Halloween collection will be on sale September 10th. To check out more polishes by Elizabeth check out the Starry Earth Etsy store HERE!!

Starry Earths Mermaid Elixir & 70% Chance Of Rain

I was very privileged the other day to receive an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING package from the lovely  Elizabeth at Starry Earth. I am going to start by showing you two, but stay tuned over the next couple days for the rest of the polishes including a brand new sneak peak at an upcoming Halloween special!

These two polishes are possibly the most amazing pastels I own. And by possibly, I mean these are the two MOST AMAZING pastel polishes I own. They are beyond words. Mermaid Elixir and 70% Chance Of Rain are both pastel polishes that are more or less shimmers. But not just any shimmers. These polishes have shimmers that are made up of tiny holographic glitter. I am hesitant to call it holographic glitter however because it is so fine that it just shows up as the most AMAZING shimmer ever.

"70% Chance of Rain is a stormy grey blue shimmer polish. It has tiny (and I mean tiny) silver holo glitters. It shimmers without being overpowering. It's a great polish if you like glitter but don't want it to be in your face glitter!" What more is there to really say about this than that? When she says the holographic glitter is tiny, she really means it. It really is more like a holographic shimmer. I would never in a million years consider this a glitter polish personally, but it is so far elevated from a normal shimmer I am unsure what I SHOULD call it. Stunning. Beautiful. My favourite light blue I own. So much so that I am worried about picking up my bottle of Chanel Skyline later this week as I doubt it will be as nice as this one. And yes. I am 100% serious in that. Opaque in two coats, its just perfect.

"Mermaid Elixir is a light green shimmering polish. It has tiny (and I mean tiny) silver holo glitters. It shimmers without being overpowering. It's a great polish if you like glitter but don't want it to be in your face glitter!". This basically is the twin sister of 70% Chance Of Rain. It is basically the green version of the above one. Totally stunning,

One coat of each polish

Two coats of each

Two coats of each over a black base (Nailtini Espresso)

Two coats of each over black on the left, two coats of each on its own on the right

Full sized bottles are available in Elizabeth's Etsy shop for 8.00 each. You can shop her store HERE!
