Some Promises Are Just Not Possible To Keep.

Really....... I tried...... I swear! So I sometimes make statements here (like I am on a bubble bath BAN) or on twitter (like I am so fed up with Sephora customer service I am not going to shop there anymore) in the hopes that by stating them publicly I will be held accountable. Because then when I post a bubble bath purchase or a Sephora purchase I KNOW that someone is going to message, tweet or email me saying "BUT YOU SAID...". So yes. I said. The universe apparently had issue with that.

So it started with a birthday gift for a friend. This was about TWO days after my posting that I was on a bubble bath ban. They were buy three get three free. And so yes. She got three, and I got three. It was a bad start to the ban from the get go!

And then today. I had no intention of using the VIB coupon I got sent for $20 off a $50 purchase. I really didn't. But then at work this week I was given a $25 gift card from my Secret Santa where I work. So it seemed ridiculous NOT to use it in conjunction with the coupon. So I went in DETERMINED to ONLY spend $50 and not a penny more.

The Candy Cane Lane was $21 and the Toast of the Town was $29. So it worked out to be EXACTLY $30 making my cost $5. So really, it would have been silly NOT to get them. Right??

So with the bathroom I use being totally redone last week, I had to empty it out so the workmen could work. That involved a big purge and clean and today I reloaded the medicine cabinet. Yes, this is the medicine cabinet. I am pretty sure I could fit IN it if I tried. Its GINORMOUS!!  Good thing since the bathroom itself is teeny tiny. And since I dont share the bathroom with anyone its just for my stuff!

Photobucket

And so this is my new oath. This shelf will be where ALL the bath stuffs go. It MUST fit on this shelf. No overflow to anywhere else or I have to throw out. And that would be wrong and wasteful. So just this ONE SHELF.

And I used the box from the Philosophy set I just got to hold all my bubble bars and bath bombs from LUSH. I think this works well and is organized.

The Bubble Bath Problem!

So with the holiday season fast approaching (Chanukah is in FIVE weeks?!!?! How did THAT happen?) companies are going CRAZY with new and limited edition releases. The problem is that I have A TON of bubble baths! I am trying sooooooooooooooo hard to use them up and work through what I have. My stash as of now consists of:

And my bubble bars:

See? I have a TON! I need no more. But I want soooooooo many of the holiday releases! I am having a very hard time justifying the purchase or addition of anymore bath products at this point but want so many. I do take a bubble bath at least 3 or 4 times a week and am working through them. So here is what I have gotten through in the last month

So here is the entire stash as of last week (a bubble bar and a bit are gone since)

And I am going to try really really hard to NOT buy any more at least through Christmas. I do plan to get one or two of the new Lush Crackling products and a few of the play dough type ones because, well, come on!! How could I not. But otherwise my goal is to work my way through this before then. I figure at four baths a week for 8 weeks....... That is only 32 baths so theoretically I could finish about 8 bubble bars. That would leave me only about 1.5 or two bubble bars. Sigh......... The never ending stash....... I may just have to give up and give in to the stash! Though I will do my best not to choose THAT option!

I Feel SOOO Accomplished!

I always look at blog posts showing the monthly empties they managed to get through and I always feel a little guilty. I have SOOOO much stuff I just need to get rid of and use up, and never manage too. And I am at the point now where I honestly don't buy many beauty products (aside from polish) due to the sheer mass of products I already have. I have even been good on the bath products list!!!

But finally I feel like I am on a roll and working through my products. And in the last five weeks I have managed to finish quite a few products!!!

Cake Milk Made Body Frothing Bath & Shower Cream
This is the first Cake product I have used that I didn't love. And not only did I not LOVE it, I didn't even LIKE it. I hate to say that because I love the brand.
Indulge your skin and your senses with vitamin-enriched body wash and bubble bath that smells of warm vanilla with a hint of raspberry. A blend of avocado oil, shea butter, whole milk and marshmallow extract wraps skin in moisture for soothing comfort and skin that is left clean, soft and protected.

That's the description given by the brand about the product. Now it DID smell nice. No raspberry hint I could detect, but it smelled like baked birthday cake. As for the bubble bath.... it didn't bubble at all. Ok, maybe a bit, but  really not much. I used quite a bit of product at once and couldn't even get a thin layer of bubbles over the entire surface of the water. And while it felt nice when I was soaking in it, it didn't leave my skin feeling soft and clean, it left it feeling greasy and kind of dirty..... I did use it all up, but I wont be purchasing again!

Biore Pore Perfect Triple Action Astringent
This astringent I love! I had really really oily skin as a teenager (though I was really pimple free until about age 22) and found that astringents were the thing that worked for me. Now that I am in my 30s I thought that pimples were an issue of the past but due to hormonal issues, I once more have the skin of a teenager! GRR!!! But this WORKS!! Its harsh, and its drying bur it does work well. I just follow it with my go to moisturizer!
Salicylic acid acne treatment. Oil-free. Cleanses, tightens & clears. Go for a clean sweep. Tingly-cool toner unclogs and tightens pores as it reduces surface shine. Helps prevent blackheads and blemishes. Made in Canada.Treats acne. Clears blackheads. Helps prevent new acne blemishes and blackheads.

And oh my does this product work!  Now this product has been reformulated. And while they now make BLEMISH FIGHTING ASTRINGENT in what they call a "new blue formula", it was not available ANYWHERE here. So I purchased a different brand that I hope works as well!

Butter London Powder Room Acetone Free Lacquer Remover
Now this product I didn't really love that much. It comes in a teeny tiny bottle which is great for travel but I normally find that acetone free polish removers just do not work. Julep is the first one I have tried that I find actually works well!

LUSH Cosmetics Dirty Shower Gel Sample
Not much to say about this other than I loved the smell of it so much and the quality of it I had to spend the gift card I had on a full sized bottle!!

Bath And Body Works FRESH PICKED tangerine anti bacterial hand gel
I have to say that these little hand sanitizers come in very handy. Between eating on the run between classes and geocaching I have started to really use these more than I care to admit. I got about 4 or 5 of these during the boxing day sales so I am good for these for awhile!

Spa H2O+ Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo
This is something I did not enjoy at all. Not the smell, the consistency or anything else.  I will not at all be replacing this and honestly if I had not been away from home I would not have even used the rest of this. I would have grabbed something else had I had that option!

Mevida Cleansing Wipes
These are just cheapo wipes I got at the dollar store. I never used these on my face. I keep them in my bag and find they were great when I got any mud or dirt on my feet durring sandal season. I will probably replace  these with whatever other wipes I find at the dollar store. Were these anything special? Meh! They worked!!!

Project 10 Pan (MY WAY!)

Happy New Years everyone! I hope you had a great one! Mine was spent with good friends from high school more than a decade ago! And better than good friends, it involved us all in pyjamas pigging out! A totally perfect, relaxed night! But I am waaaaay off topic!

Durring the boxing day madness and sales, I bought A LOT of bath products. I love my bubble baths. I work 13-14 hour days at least 4 days a week and a bubble bath is my way of relaxing. An hour spent in bubbly water reading a book...... well, it doesn't get much more relaxing than that! And I love so many different brands and scents, that I have A LOT of bubble bath. And by a lot, I REALLY mean a lot!  I am really proud of myself that over the last 3 weeks I have finished off these two bottles!

This really made me feel accomplished. THEN........ I went through and sorted and cleaned out my bubble bath stash and put them all together and well........... EEK!!! I have way too much! I have to do something about it. So, thus starts the project ten pan. MY WAY!!  (for those of you who don't know, a project ten pan is when you commit yourself to completely using up 10 beauty products before purchasing ANYTHING else. In other words a ban that is not lifted until you complete the conditions attached)

My stash as of now:

And then my bubble bars (and trust me, each bag contains a bubble bar)

So I am starting the new year with a project ten pan. I will not assign what products are part of the ten pan. But I will not purchase ANY new bubble bath or shower gels until I finish AT LEAST ten of these products (and no more than half of them can be bubble bars! I will however include the two fruits and passions in the project and say 8 more to go!
