Painted Sabotage Gargle Blaster

I was recently sent a private message on facebook asking me about this polish and it made me realize I had not yet posted this polish!
The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster was invented by Zaphod Beeblebrox, a major character in Douglas Adams' novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon, wrapped 'round a large gold brick. It has also been described in the novel as the alcoholic equivalent to a mugging; expensive and bad for the head.
Gargle Blaster a polish that screams wear me!! A mint green shade with a slight shimmer, accented with fuchsia, silver and gunmetal glitters!
This is very sheer with one coat, so that you can layer over other polishes, but does build up nicely with additional coats of polish.
Now personally for me this is a more grey toned teal blue than a mint green base. But the rest of the description to me is spot on! And did I mention how much I love that its based on the HGTG? The triology of four books! I LOVE IT!

In all the swatches below are two coats on its own. I really like the polish and I think it applies beautifully. I like that the fuchsia tends to look more purple than pink! Its GREAT! I dont have anything else to say about this. The glitter tends to sink a bit in the bottle overtime, but its easily mixed back up. It applies nicely and there is nothing to fault in the formula.

Gargle Blaster is available HERE from the Painted Sabotage Etsy store for $9.75. Now shipping is kind of pricey to Canada at $7.50 but each additional polish is only $1.25 so at least if you get a few or go in with a friend you can get a bit of a break on shipping.

Now just a note. These polishes are made in micro batches and sometimes things come out slightly different from one polish to the next. It seems mine is slightly less pigmented than they usually are. Now this is not a complaint. I know this because the owner contacted me to try to send me one that is more in line with the vision. If you order one it will most likely be a bit darker than mine! I actually LOVE this one the way it is, but I am super impressed with the customer service of this brand!

Prismatic Polish In Eon Blue Apocalypse & Vicarious!

So it is not very often I get super excited about an indie line. I am really not an "indie kind of gal". But every so often an indie brand gets my pulse racing. When the lovely Kristina of Prismatic Polish asked me if I would be willing to review one of her polishes, I said absolutely! The ONLY issue I had was I could NOT under any circumstances decide which one I wanted to review. I could not at all narrow it down to one. I finally said to her that I would be thrilled with either the blue or the purple and I ended up getting BOTH!

Now I would like to point out the little blue badge in the corner of the above image. From here on out you are going to see that image on any item that gets sent to me for review. It is just a simple and straightforward way for you to tell if an item was a press sample or not.

Now back to the polish. These polishes are beyond amazing. Let me start with Vicarious.

Vicarious is described as 'a deep violet jelly polish with very small iridescent hex glitter". It is a deep purple loaded (and I mean LOADED) with slightly holographic iridescent glitter. It reminds me most of the finish of Butter London Victoriana or All Hail The Queen. It has that kind of almost 3d shimmer to it. Too small to really call it a glitter, but way more than shimmer. It does dry to a kind of rough finish. Not really sandpaper like or rough, but certainly not smooth. You will need a layer or two of a fast dry top coat or a single coat of a thicker top coat to completely smooth it out. But it went on very beautifully and easily. It was opaque in two coats and was not too thick or too thin. It is thicker than some brands but it applies and flows really really smoothly. I really can not think of anything negative to say about this one other than or unless the not smooth finish bothers you.

Next up is Eon Blue Apocalypse. This one is described as "a periwinkle blue linear holographic nail polish". Now nothing about this polish is periwinkle as far as I am concerned. It is an INSANELY holographic polish with that wonderfully linear holo we all love. But it is true blue as far as I am concerned. Periwinkle is a purpley blue and this is a very true sky blue. But other than the descriptive issue I have nothing else to say about this. It is opaque in two coats, has the wonderful plus of not having that drag that holographic polishes quite often tend to have. I think it is safe to say that a matte top coat or an aqua base coat underneath is completely unnecessary with this polish which is a wonderful thing.

And here are both colours swatched together.

Now on to the important stuff.

Make sure to let me know which polishes of hers you pick up!

Darling Diva Polish Swatches

Look at how gorgeous these there polishes are! I was thrilled when Carrie contacted me and asked me if I would review some more of her polishes! And these polishes might not be the colours that I would have chosen if I had gotten to pick, but they are fantastic polishes! The colours are so vivid and bright, the application, formula and dry time amazing, and from past experience I KNOW that in 6 months or a year that they will still look EXACTLY like this! And you know what? I think I have now found my St Patricks Day manicure!

Leprechaun's Gold is a fine green holographic glitter polish. The polish is a clear base loaded with holographic green glitter and gold glitter. The green and gold seem to be the same size and the ration seems to be about two thirds green one third gold. Enough that the gold IS visible and obvious, but still clearly a green polish! Below is ONE coat over Zoya Purity and Zoya Raven.

Menage A Trois is a transparent pink jelly base loaded with various sized pink hex glitters and holographic pink hex glitters. Below is one coat over Zoya Purity and Zoya Raven.

Rescue Me is a charity polish with all proceeds going to the Basset Hound Rescue. From my understanding, 100% of the PURCHASE PRICE goes to the charity. NOT the profits, but the full TEN DOLLARS of the bottle price. That is right, this bottle is two dollars more than the rest of the line, but if all the money is going to a charity and not just the profits, then who am I to complain?

Rescue Me is made up of  black bar and mini hex glitter, white bar and mini square glitter, and large holographic pink hearts ina  clear base. Its similar in feel to Lynnderella's Connect The Dots, but with pink hearts. Same idea though. Here it is, one coat over Zoya Purity, Zoya Raven and Julep Renee.

All of these polishes were a joy to work with. They were easy to apply, the base in each of these was thick enough to hold and suspend the glitter without being thick or gloopy, and they dried without being very rough or feeling they would need 6 gallons of top coat to make them smooth. The dry time on these was also very good. The only thing worth mentioning is that the hearts in Rescue Me kind of have to be scooped out a bit and placed where you want them, but I find that kind of standard with any polishes with oversized glitters.

Here is one coat of each on their own (if they don't have underwear does that mean they are going commando?)

And this is two coats of each on their own:

Do I recommend purchasing from her? She is wonderful. Her polishes are fantastic. I have some that are almost a year old and no issues with breakdown, bleeding or curling glitters. She has great customer service and a great product!

VERY excited for this polish! Since November is National Diabetes Awareness Month I figured that this was the best time to raise money to donate to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). My 12 yr old son, Tyler, has been a diabetic for over 10 yrs now; he was diagnosed at 22 months old, so this is very important and close to my heart. Each full size bottle is $10 with 50% going to JDRF in Tyler’s honor. What makes this polish extra special is that Tyler had a hand in making it with me and also coming up with the name, "Star Light Star Bright Wishin' For A Cure Tonight!" This is the wish of every child suffering with this devastating disease. It is my dream for my son to see a cure in his lifetime, and you can help make that happen!
Every donation helps get us one step closer to a cure, one step closer to children being able to live a LONG and healthy life; A life free from finger sticks, shots, hospital stays, and the MANY complications that comes along with having diabetes. Complications such as blindness, kidney failure, seizures, coma, amputations, and death, just to name a few. Diabetes is a very devastating disease that more and more children are diagnosed with every year. Together we can help these children, we can make their wish come true!
