Sephora Favorites Skin Cleanse To Go

This is a new Sephora Favourites set currently available on the website (HERE) for $22. Now considering the dual cleanse from Glamglow is $21 alone, this is an AMAZING deal. I am making a commitment right now to use one of the two tubes of it I have sitting in my bathroom now tomorrow. If I like it I will pick up this set as its $1 more for the other 3 products.

Now the other 3 product included are basically free. Or 33 cents each. The Ole Henriksen Grease Relief Cleansing Cloths I have heard a ton about but have never tried. The value of them is $10 and can be purchased on their own as well. The First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay has a value of $6.38 and the REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask  a value of $13.20.

In fact, to be honest, after typing this out, I really want to try the cloths and the mask so I am crazy if I dont pick this up. Decision made. $50.58 value for $22!!!

What it is:
An assortment of travel-friendly cleansing formulas, from new innovations to cult classics.

What it is formulated to do:
Expand the way you cleanse with these deluxe sample size wonders featuring innovative originals and bestselling brand favorites. Grease Relief™ Cleansing Cloths Deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and renew pores in one easy step with a trio of purifying acids on a textured cloth. Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay draws out the skin’s toxins and reduces sebum production to control outbreaks for a more balanced complexion while removing makeup and grime. Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask utilizes a four-fruit acid complex to create a gentle, yet potent exfoliating action that leaves skin glowing and healthy. POWERMUD™ Dualcleanse Treatment is a mud-to-oil, gentle, deep cleansing treatment that removes the weekly buildup of dirt, oil, and makeup.

This set contains:
- 10 x Ole Henriksen Grease Relief Cleansing Cloths: Oil-Free Pore Refining
- 1 oz First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay
- 0.34 oz REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask
- 0.5 oz POWERMUD Dualcleanse Treatment

Sephora Favorites The Great Cleanse

I think by now if you read my blog you will know that when it comes to skincare I am all about masks and peels. I am not really one for trying cleansers and oils. It has taken me ages to get my skin under control (not that you would know that over the past 3 weeks) and I don't like to mess to much with the cleanser and moisturizer that works. . I had my face break out about two weeks ago after a makeover at Sephora and am still recovering!

But now lets get down to the stuff you care about! The breakdown and value of this set! To start with, this set costs $58 and can be found HERE. The Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover has a value of $7 but the chemical burns it left on my face are priceless (true story. Not touching this stuff again under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES). The Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water is worth $16, the Nude Skincare Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil a value of $6.62 and the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil $13. The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is $19, the Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash $5.10 and the Philosphy Purity Made simple $8.67. The Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser™ has a value of $8.14, the GLAMGLOW POWERMUD™ Dualcleanse Treatment $21 and the Algenist GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser a value of $15. The last two items are the Boscia Tsubaki Oil-Infused Exfoliating Powder with a value of $ 7.68 and the Boscia Mini Konjac Cleansing Sponge $6.67.

So overall the value of this set comes in at a total of $133.38. A great value. But if its worth it or not is something else. I would use the Glamglow, Caudalie cleansing water and Purity for sure. That is a 45.67. So for $12.33 Id get everything else. The value is certainly there, just not sure I need everthing else. With that said however, I will for sure be spending $30 at some point as I will need more dual cleanse and more purity. So basically........ I have no fricken clue.

What it is:A innovative, 12-piece set of cult-classic cleansing formulas, featuring deluxe samples of makeup removers, cleansing waters, and cleansing oils.

What it is formulated to do:Grab ahold of the first step in beauty—cleasning. The Great Cleanse was created to let you try all the newness and innovation in cleansing by offering some of the very best products. Featuring makeup removing cleansers, cleansing water formulas, cleansing oils and powders, and an exfoliating Konjac Cleansing Sponge, this set includes all your essentials to perfectly clean, refreshed, and hydrated skin.

This set contains:- 1.69 oz Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
- 3.38 oz Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water
- 0.5 oz Nude Skincare Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil
- 1.7 oz Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil
- 1.7 oz Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
- 1 oz Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash
- 2 oz Philosophy Purity Made Simple
- 1.5 oz Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser™
- 0.5 oz GLAMGLOW POWERMU™ Dualcleanse Treatment
- 1.5 oz Algenist GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser
- 0.36 oz Boscia Tsubaki Oil-Infused Exfoliating Powder
- Boscia Mini Konjac Cleansing Sponge

GLAMGLOW GLAMTASTIC Facial Set

Glamglow has another holiday set out. I have to say, I just can not get excited about this one myself. Its $65 so $11 less than the other holiday set. But the other holiday set has a full sized Thirstymud instead of 3 of the eyemask pods. I have a few of the eye ones floating around and have not gotten around to trying them yet, but I freaking love the thirstymud.

If however you like this set (the deal is still pretty freaking amazing), you can pick it up on Sephora!

Sephora Rouge Event Haul (Or Lack There Of)

So I was very good at the Rouge event the other night. It helped that I had already bought $800 or so worth of holiday sets during the friends and family sale and my constant trips to the USA recently (purchases made on vacation dont count, right?). Add to that that the big 3 things I wanted were not available in store, and well..... you end up with a very very well behaved jinx.

I had to get something, and I was going to try the Orgins face mask anyway which has a $21 cost by itself, so for $10 more I got a $21 thirstymud from glamglow which I know I love, and two other masks.

The free bracelet to me was pretty much garbage. Its one strand of seed beads on a cotton thread. Not really worth the effort of even giving out in my super judgemental snotty opinon. If you like the brand Shashi though, there is a 30% code for their website ShashiLovesSephora30 for anyone who wants it.

And these deluxe samples were also in the bag.

Overall I found the event underwhelming. There were only a couple reps from vendors there and none were giving out samples. They were all doing or attempting very hard sales.

Did you go? What did you get? What was your thoughts on it?

Facemask Friday - Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

So it seems I have never done an actual review of the Youthmud. Not sure how that happened. You all know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Supermud. But I never really talk much about this black one. At a cost of  $21 for 0.5 oz. and $76 for the full 1.7 oz. size it is a pricey mask and at that price, it needs to not be ok, but be FABULOUS. So the big question is, is it.

I will tell you that when I realized that I had not reviewed this one on my blog yet, I thought "ok, time to do it. Ill put the mask on, take some pics then explain to my readers why its not worth the money". I have never LOVED this one. I have always thought it did little to nothing I realized though in using it again how much I actually like it for what it is.

I think of mud masks, I think of charcoal, I think of clays pulling out toxins and dirt and guck (that is the technical term) from my skin. I want to see smaller pores, cleaner pores, and smoother skin. If I don't, odds are I am not using it again. What you have to keep in mind with this is that is NOT what this is for. If you want a vacuum to suck out and deep clean your pores, get the white version of this, the Supermud and send me a thank you note when you see the results (review of that one can be found here). But if you want something to brighten and smooth your dull tired skin, this is really great. If you want an invigorating and rough without being painful exfoliating treatment, this is also great. It took my using this again to really realize what it DOES when I was not being so focused on what it does not do.

Its a mud, but with bits of dried up Green Tea Leaves inside. It tingles a bit when you put it on, but more like in a cooling and calming way, not in a burning uncomfortable way.

You can clearly see the leaves

Now as it dries it tightens. You will certainly know when its dry by feel alone. It feels very uncomfortable as it dries, and by that I mean to the point that talking or smiling is a physical effort. It is like your skin is tightened into a mask that leaves no room to readjust your facial muscles. It is not painful but a bit of a weird sensation.

It also dries to a chalky white.

When its dry, you wash it off. But here is the most important part of it. Remove mask with water in circular motions to exfoliate. That part do not ignore. It is one of the most aggressive exfoliators I have used on my skin. It feels like the strongest scrub I have ever used. Now that being said, it irritated my skin in the way that my skin was red and a tad sensitive aftewards, but not in a painful way that many scrubs do. I guess it felt a lot more harsh than it must really be since my skin usually does not love harsh scrubs. Now that being said, if you are more sensitive and cant handle the harsh exfoliation you can be a little less vigorous with your rubbing it off in circular motions part of this treatment.

As you can see afterwards, my skin is red (and by that I mean more red than normal, as my skin is ALWAYS red).

Within 10 minutes however the redness (or extra redness) went away. Did it help with all my spots and marks and such? No. But my skin was definitely smoother and brigher after having used it.

Overall, I like this mask. Not as the miracle treatment that the supermud is (and that IS a miracle in a jar), but as a nice brightening smoothing mask. I still would normally gravitate towards a mask that will help get rid of my terrible breakouts, but I see a purpose and a use for this in my life. When my skin is being well behaved (not this day as you can see) and I dont have all the little breakouts and bumps and bits that I did here, it would be a great way to exfoliate and refresh the skin. I wish those days were more frequent and abundant, but in the mean time, I have to go. I have a supermud mask to get to!

VIB Sale - Recommendations

So I have done an INSANE amount of holiday shopping already this season and have tried a lot of great holiday items. I also have a few left on my wishlist. But the number one thing I get asked is for recommendations on what I would get with the 20% VIB. Here are my top picks!

Blushes
There are quite a few blush items I have been extremely impressed with so far. The Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes, Tarte Pin Up Girl Palette as well as the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette from Hourglass are all fantastic deals and great products. While there is really nothing limited edition or exclusive about the Benefit palette (though it looks they are retiring one of the shades from within it) the extreme value (5 half sized and one full sized blush) puts it on the list!

Bronzers
This is something I dont have yet. But as someone who has almost bought the Too Faced bronzer to try 1000 times, this set seems the perfect little gift! You get to sample all four of their bronzers for one low price of $28! They  may be deluxe minis, but they are all there! This I am hoping to pick up this weekend

Eyeshadow Palettes
I have to say, I usually have very long lists of all my wants and recommendations in this department, but this year? Meh..... The Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette is not quite my idea of perfect colour wise, but at $35 its a great priced limited edition palette that seems to get rave reviews. And if you are an Urban Decay fanatic, the Vice3 is always an option, though I think many brands have surpassed UD in both quality and performance.

Now, if chubby shadow pencils are your thing, well, forget that. Even if they are NOT your thing, pick these up anyways. Seriously amazing. The Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Stick Eye Colour Quartet was sold out online, came back up the other day and is sold out again (for good reason. These sticks are AMAZING! And a great deal) but if you can luck in to them in store, grab them!

Eyeliners
Well, look at me, recommending a set that is NOT Urban Decay! I still love their liners, but the Marc Jacobs ones are better. Seriously. $56 for 7 mini liners may not sound that great a deal, but they are 75% of the size of regular ones. One of my highlights of the season for sure!

Skincare
For skincare, I assume you all know where this is going. The Glamglow Gift Sexy! You pay for one sized amazing face mask, and you get two half sized ones for free. And while the YouthMud is their best selling most popular one, SuperMud (the white one) is my hands down favourite. And while I have not yet reviewed ThirstyMud on my blog (the review is coming!!) I really love it and am finding it my go to moisture mask.

Now for the most part, these sets I have shown you are amazing values and great ways to sample some high end luxe items (ambient lighting blushes, marc jacobs liners, Laura Mercier caviar sticks, Glamglow masks) for a fraction of what it normally costs and at the same time, it gives you a nice selection to really try out the lines. Also, sets such as the tarte and benefit and too faced are simply great ways to try cult classics you might have just always put on the "will try later" list!

Hope this guide was at least a bit of a help, and please! Let me know in the comments below what items you think are must haves!! Also, WHAT ARE YOU GETTING??!!

NEW!! Glamglow Cleansers!

So its official! Our favourite masks are getting buddies! These SOUND completely different than anything else I have seen or tried before. These are mud to foam cleansers. They start off as the mud we have come to expect from glamglow, but they end up foaming into a cleanser.

I am someone who does not like or even reach for or try foaming cleansers anymore. Soap usually foams because of foaming agents most commonly ammonium lauryl sulfate or sodium dodecyl sulfate. These are used as foaming agents, but also because they are surfactants. Now if you have read any of my posts on haircare, you might be familiar with surfactants. But basically, they are used to reduce the surface tension of water and they also help break up oils and sebum on the skin which helps allow them to be washed away. I find they are usually drying and harsh.

That being said, if its coming out from Glamglow I will put aside my distaste of foaming cleansers and give it a try! I have tried 4 of the 5 glamglow masks out thus far and love 3 of them, and like the other one. I have not yet tried a dud from the brand so I am anxious to try these out!

These should be out this January! Finally! A reason to get excited about an AFTER Christmas release!!
