Gosh Frosted Polish - New Shades!!

Back in October I showed you the three new Gosh poilshes that were called Frosted. Basically their version of the liquid sands. You can check out the post here. But here are the three shades, silver, gold and purple:

In fact, I instagrammed this photo yesterday (follow me on instagram here) of my wearing the frosted purple:

Well, there are more shades!!!!!!! I am super excited!

I am hoping the frosted coral is orange and not pink, and in that case I NEED NEED NEED THESE THREE:

So far I have seen the silver and gold shades repromoted along with a new light pink, but the rest of them I am still on the lookout for! If you find these new shades in Shoppers Drug Mart by you, let me know! NEED!

Formula X A Little Sexy And Inspiring Swatched

I have A Little Sexy and Inspiring to show you today. Both are from The Cut Spring 2014 offerings from Sephora and I am assuming that means they are limited edition? That being said, The Cut Summer 2014 is already out, and the Spring ones are still there, so who knows?

Inspiring is described as "a pearl light turquoise”. This one is more of alight aqua (bordering on teal) with a metallic finish. It is on the thicker side (which seems to be the case with this collection) and as a metallic, it does leave streaks, though not as bad as a traditional metallic polish. I found this was best with two coats, but you have to MAKE SURE to let coat one dry before doing coat two or you are going to have issues with streaks. It dried to an almost satin/matte finish though not quite.

A Little Sexy is described as "a pearl light periwinkle”. It is a middle of the road (not too dark, not too light) periwinkle with a metallic finish. The formula is on the thick side, but I found it more forgiving than the typical metallic polish. Still can be very streaky so you do have to be careful, but no where near what you would expect from a typical metallic polish. Opaque in one coat, I suggest two (as shown in the photo) to alleviate a lot of the streaks. This one also dried to an almost satin/matte finish.

Cheek Pop Blushes For Clinique Spring 2014 - Swatched

I was super excited to pick these up when I saw the promo shots! I mean, come on! We all know I have been on a TOTAL blush kick lately. I went in to the swatch them, expecting to pick AT LEAST 2 of them. I walked out with none. HOLY SHIMMER BATMAN! Seriously. These are shimmery! I am NOT a girl who likes a face full of glitter and that is just what you got with these.

From left to right, 03, 02, 01 and 04

Sorry for the crummy lighting. This was taken at the counter. I think you can see the shimmer more on the bottom photo. I cant speak for the wear obviously, but the pigment, texture and application are damn near perfect. But the shimmer is unforgivable in my books. If you like shimmer in your blush, these are fantastic! Its really the ONLY pitfall. Too bad I can't overlook it!

Fantasy Of Flowers For Mac Spring 2014

So as you all know, I am not the biggest MAC fan. I think their products are merely OK, and the polishes can be downright horrid. I think its a combination of the 13,459 collections that come out each year along with the inconsistent quality. All you have to do is go to a website such as Temptalia's to note that the grades each products get can range from A+ through D quite regularly. I wish they would come out with fewer products and instead worry more about quality and consistency. That being said, I do get sucked in every once in awhile.

And having realized how far I have gone away from the roots of this blog being in nail poilsh, I am going to try to more consistently post the new polish releases from all brands across the board.

In this collection are four nail polishes:

  • Pep Pep Pep (peach nude cream)
  • Saint Germain (cool pink cream)
  • Girl Trouble (frosty pink super glitter)
and not pictured,

  • SOIRÉE (forsty bronze gold sparkle)

L’Wren Scott For Bobbi Brown Spring 2014

Maybe its just me, but the packaging on this turns me off. I know I am the freak when it comes to packaging. Most people LOVE the MAC collections that are themed like the barbie, archie, or villians collections. I think it makes the products look cheap. Its a weird OCD me thing. I KNOW THAT. I like the look of the standard black and white Bobbi Brown packaging. I find these "special" ones just end up looking like you went to the makeup section of the toy store to shop. Ok, I will shut up now and wait for the verbal flogging I am sure to get in the comment section below!

Otherwise, I think the colour selection is pretty, and aside from the fact that there is a cream product in the palette, I like the entire collection. And since it seems all I have done in this post is bitch, WHY OH WHY do companies insist on putting a creme product in a powder palette. Seriously?! I have not purchased the Bon Jovi palette from The Balm for that very reason. And at least they try to pretend to separate them. The design of this palette is nothing short of stupid and I might have overlooked the packaging to pick this up as I am on a big purple kick lately, but for the creme product in the centre.

I will end my cranky rant here and leave you all with pretty pictures.

New Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes For Spring 2014

From top to bottom, Tarte Blushes In Fearless, Flush and True Love. These are three all new blushes for Tarte Spring 2014. Now if you are a Tarte blush fan (I have two so far and they are at this point the ONLY Tarte item I have not felt was over-hyped or felt let down by) don't worry. These are part of the spring 2014 collection but they are being added to the permanent line so there is no rush to get them!

NARS Spring 2014 Collection

So far NARS 2014 there are two new nail polishes. The first is a cantaloupe colour called Wind Dancer that is pictured below and the other is a repromote called Dovima. I don't know about you guys, but I feel like NARS has really been doing the orange thing a lot lately. I am not complaining about this, but it seems to me that a lot of the recent limited edition shades over the last two years have been orange. Is it just me?

Be MATTEnificent Palette For Tarte Spring 2014

So if you are a matte shadow lover and like neturals, the new Tarte Mattenifficent palette might be for you. I really wish I could get excited about this, but I was SORELY disappointed with my first experience with the brand and not sure I want to jump in and try again.

Are you familiar with the brand? Have you been happy with the products of theirs you have tried? If so which ones? I would love to hear your opinions!

I'm The One Collection For Illamasqua Valentines Day 2014

Illamasqua has a new valentines day collection coming out. I must say I kind of am torn. On the one hand, its red. Boring. Nothing exciting. On the other hand, its valentines day. What can we really expect? I should be happy its not pink. The nail polish does look interesting in the promo shots though, so I will withhold judgement.

Mac Punk Couture Collection For Spring 2014

So we all know MAC polish leaves PolishJinx annoyed and pissed off for buying into the brand. I just end up let down. So what do I do? I swear I will not be purchasing anymore. THEN......... this happens.

Polish Jinx "ooooh! pretty colours!!""

And then we go back to the first line about my being pissed off.

Impassioned bright warm pink (cream), Formidable teal green with pink multi-changing pearl (pearl) and Nocturnelle black as night (cream). I need the teal.

Hangs head in shame.....

Save the Bees Collection For Chantecaille Spring 2014

I am normally the first one to post the images of the new Chantecaille charity palettes. That is usually followed by the line "OMG! I NEED THIS!!". Well, not this time people. I think the blush shade is quite lovely to be fair, but the other colours just dont do it for me. It is a gorgeous palette though.

What do you think? Are you digging this? Or do you prefer a different one of their palettes? Which is your favourite Chantecaille palette? I think as boring as it sounds, the Classic Palette holds my heart!

La Laque Couture Spicy Collection For Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2014

16 Shades of Beige Collection For Clinique Spring 2014

I was super excited when I first saw the promo adds for the 16 shades of beige collection. As I can assume you can all guess, I saw that palette and went "OMG!! I need that!!". So I immediately called the Clinique counter where I was to be having my makeup done in a few days and put one on hold. Fast forward to the day of the event, I hated my makeover so much I said forget the palette. I don't want it anymore. Yes, it could be used in a million and one other ways than the way my makeup had been done, but I was over it. Its now been 2 weeks and I am no longer angered by looking at the palette and thought I would share it with you all. The pigment on it is fine, the palette is nice. Not much else to say about it. The palette costs $40 and is available at The Bay both in stores and online!

Chanel Spring Summer 2014 Makeup

I thought that since I had posted those gold looks from Dior, I would post these fun, bright looks found on the Chanel SS14 Runway. Now lets get real. This is not a look any of us will be rocking on a day to day basis, but it sure is fun! Kind of think it would be PERFECT for martis gras!

And then, heres a full shot of the above model simply as I love her dress. But seriously? WTF is she wearing on her feet? Rolled down granny knee highs are not going to be a trend I take part in no matter what might around the corner!
