Annabelle Expandable Mascara Swatches And Review

This is supposed to be a two in one mascara. The bottom of it twists to give you two different different brushes. Mine is however broken and does not twist. This is merely a photo of the brush and then a close up of the brush. I contacted Annabelle and they said they would send me another one.

That being said, I thought I would give this a try anyways. No patience to wait until the new one shows up.

Right eye (the one on the left) has the mascara on in two coats. The other eye is no mascara. I love this. Its a clearly mascara look, but still natural. No clumping even on the second coat (no clumping at ALL. Had to do no adjustments or clean up) and it was not wet or uncomfortable on the eye. With a brush that worked that I could alter the brush I think it would likely give a much fuller look that I would likely not enjoy.

Overall,  I love this mascara! So glad I picked it up!

Annabelle Kohl Liner in 73 Black

This is a classic pencil liner. Not much to say about it otherwise. It is not as hard or as dry as other drugstore liners I have tried before are, so that was surprising.

Its also a much finer liner than the Julep one I just swatched for you earlier.

That was supposed to be more like meh, but it kind of sounds like I am just being Canadian now doesn't it. The product is simply meh. Nothing great. Not terrible. No way I am likely to EVER reach for it in my stash, but it came as a bonus with a mascara I will be showing you so I thought I would give it a try. If you want a very fine line, this might work for you though.

Also, to note, its black, but its a very light almost greyed out black.

Annabelle Lipsies In Strawberry & Fruit Punch

I had not seen anything about the new Annabelle Lipsies (in fact until picking them up I didn't know they existed) but I had to buy a couple when I saw them in store. At $4.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart (not sure if that was a sale price or not) they were cheap and oh so yummy smelling. I really wish we had some smell-o-vision capabilities (its 2014, why NOT?!) because you NEED to smell these!

Watermelon was out of stock or I would have picked it up also!

These are VERY PIGMENTED lip balms. I mean almost lipsticks. Picture Revlon lip butters that last longer. I put one of these on not realizing how pigmented it was right before going to bed (hey, its lip balm, right?) and I woke up 8 hours later with COLOUR STILL ON MY LIPS!!. Now I get about 3 hours of wear during waking hours, which is as much as I can expect from an expensive lipstick on me so how do you complain about that?

The two shades are:

And yes, they smell great, they have great pigment, they wear well AND they were cheap, basically:

Annabelle Twist Up Retractable Lipstick Crayons - Swatched

I just picked up these four new Annabelle Twist Up Retractable Lipstick Crayons. I have to say I am a little...... meh about these. They aren't a bad product. But they aren't a GREAT product. The biggest thing about them that turns me off is the packaging. The packaging is CHEAP. The lids barely click on and I can totally see myself losing the lid in a purse or makeup bag.

You do however get a lot of product for the $9.95 price tag so I cant fault them on that. Here is one of the crayons twisted all the way up.

Absolute:

Breeze:

Fizz:

Flirtini:

Now these are heavily swatched on the arm. Fizz is the most moisturizing of the four I picked up, and Flirtini is the most pigmented. These certainly range from barely there (Breeeze) to fairly pigmented (Flirtini).

And all of these are swatches an hour after applying. I must say the only two that really had ANY staying power (and even then, not much) were Absolute and Flirtini.

Packing For a 10 Day Trip. What Do You Take?

So I leave tomorrow for ten days. And that means packing. But for me, its not just ten casual days. I have 11 events/dinners/shows that I have to go to. And that makes packing light oh so very stressful. I am actually quite proud of myself for how I much I am taking. I think its quite reasonable for such a trip!

It starts with two bags. Both are Dior. The white one I love, but the black one. OH. MY. The BEST BEST BEST gift with purchase I have EVER received. I love this thing. It is about hte size of a 3 inch binder. But its brilliant.

This is what it looks like when you open it up.

Notice it folds open to a full mirror (the size of a standard sheet of loose leaf).

And under that is a place for makeup brushes. Which means when I take this bag I dont have to take my travel brushes. I can take full sized brushes!

I have two Hakuhodo Face Brushes, My new Lise Watier foundation brush (which I like far more than my Bobbi Brown one) and my chanel concealer bursh (I dont love).

And 5 eye brushes

Also, the one makeup bag detaches from the case.

Here is what is in the mesh bag. My Clarisonic Mia and charger, the little clear bottles are my Clinique Acne Solutions Toner x3 (each one is tiny and holds about 3-4 days worth) and the pink liquid is astringent which is good to have for days I feel I need it. Also I have cotton pads, a travel size of my moisture surge moisturizer (I save this jar and then refill it when I travel), a very generous size of philosophy eye cream, a small travel size of my purity cleanser, and a deluxe sample of the clinique roller ball for under eye circles.

Safety pins (just because), tweezers, scissors,  a file, a light, a magnifying glass and more and a mini deodorant.

Then in the small pouch are 2 weeks worth of my pills/vitamins, q-tips, advil, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, perfume samples, and hand sanitizer.

And here it is all folded up.

And the makeup bag. This was hard. I want options for different things, but I dont want to take 1000 items.

For the face:
  1. Clarins Cotton Flower Face Palette to set my makeup
  2. Edward Bess Kabuki Brush
  3. NARS Deep Throat Blush
  4. NARS Penny Lane Cream Blush
  5. NARS Pro Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep Base
  6. The Balm Time Balm Concealer
  7. Foundation (originally little tester samples that I now refill with my Dior Foundation)
  8. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener
  9. Laura Mercier Deluxe Sample Foundation Primer

For The Eyes
  1. Dior Sunset Cafe Quint
  2. Chantecaille Sea Turtles Palette
  3. Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus Deluxe Sample (I have about 12 backups of these! Obsessed!)
  4. Deluxe Mascara Sample
  5. Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 82 Emerveille
  6. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  7. Urban Decay Eyeliner in Mildew
  8. Urban Decay double sided eyeliner in Zero and Whiskey
  9. Anabelle Eyeliner Pencils in Auburn and Blonde

And for Lips:
  1. Givenchy Rouge Interdit in Secret Pink
  2. Clarins  Joli Rouge Lipstick in Hawiian Coral
  3. Loreal Colour Riche Balms in Caring Coral and Plush Plum

So what do you think? Is this way too much? Let me know what you would do in the comments.

Also, with the eminent end of Google Friend Connect approaching I would love if you could take two seconds and click on the link in the top of the sideabar to add me on blog lovin!
