Birthday Shopping List!

So my birthday is on Sunday (7 days away) and in honour of my birthday, or at least, I can only assume its in honour of my birthday, Holt Renfrew is having a big event next weekend. Not only do you get 15% of all beauty products you buy back on a gift card, but if you buy a Lippmann nail polish you get a free manicure! So I thought i would share with you all my birthday shopping list! I know you are all thinking "Oh my gosh! That girl has a pink in there!". Let me explain. I HAVE to buy the pink to get the blue. Its a duo. So I will get the duo and gift away the pink polish! What do you think of my shopping list? Am I missing anything?

Dior Samba Duo, Chanel Azure And Chanel Bel-Argus Swatches

So when I saw the lovely photos brightflora posted of Chanel Azure and Dior Samba comparisons I just HAD to share them all with you! I will be getting them this weekend but didn't want my lovely readers to have to wait that long to see these AMAZING polishes! Thankfully, brightflora was happy to let me post these pictures! So yay!

Which do you like most? I really cant decide! I really do love (and by love, I mean LOVE) all four of these! Can not wait until they are all mine!! I love reading comments from you guys and can't wait to hear what you guys think! Let me know which of these four I should use for a manicure first!

Painted Sabotage Gargle Blaster

I was recently sent a private message on facebook asking me about this polish and it made me realize I had not yet posted this polish!
The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster was invented by Zaphod Beeblebrox, a major character in Douglas Adams' novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon, wrapped 'round a large gold brick. It has also been described in the novel as the alcoholic equivalent to a mugging; expensive and bad for the head.
Gargle Blaster a polish that screams wear me!! A mint green shade with a slight shimmer, accented with fuchsia, silver and gunmetal glitters!
This is very sheer with one coat, so that you can layer over other polishes, but does build up nicely with additional coats of polish.
Now personally for me this is a more grey toned teal blue than a mint green base. But the rest of the description to me is spot on! And did I mention how much I love that its based on the HGTG? The triology of four books! I LOVE IT!

In all the swatches below are two coats on its own. I really like the polish and I think it applies beautifully. I like that the fuchsia tends to look more purple than pink! Its GREAT! I dont have anything else to say about this. The glitter tends to sink a bit in the bottle overtime, but its easily mixed back up. It applies nicely and there is nothing to fault in the formula.

Gargle Blaster is available HERE from the Painted Sabotage Etsy store for $9.75. Now shipping is kind of pricey to Canada at $7.50 but each additional polish is only $1.25 so at least if you get a few or go in with a friend you can get a bit of a break on shipping.

Now just a note. These polishes are made in micro batches and sometimes things come out slightly different from one polish to the next. It seems mine is slightly less pigmented than they usually are. Now this is not a complaint. I know this because the owner contacted me to try to send me one that is more in line with the vision. If you order one it will most likely be a bit darker than mine! I actually LOVE this one the way it is, but I am super impressed with the customer service of this brand!

Color Club Holographic Hues Collection Swatches

HOLY BATMAN are these holographic! Do you see these China Glaze? Take notes. THIS is how you do a holographic collection! I got three from the collection, the blue (Over The Moon), the purple (Eternal Beauty) and the black (Beyond).

All of these are two coats and have a top coat over top.

New Illamasqua Paranormal Collection For Summer 2013

Now before I go on about the entire collection, let me tell you that these polishes glow under black light! The polishes come in four colors: Omen (bright green), Ouija (bright pink), Séance (bright violet) and Geist, which while clear, it still glows under a black light meaning (at least I THINK) it will make ANY of your polishes glow under black light! The only thing is as a 32 year old Chem major who also started a full time job as an auditor two weeks ago, when on earth am I going to be ANYWHERE that will have black lights? A full time job in an office, and a full time Bio-Pharmaceutical Chemistry student means if I have time to update my blog I am feeling successful. Going to a night club? Not likely.

Also in the collection is a palette of 4 cream shadows (paranormal - cerise, aura - warm copper, possession - cool green and trance - soft violet), all new hydra veil (a two in one hydrator and primer), A new precision gell liner as well as a lipstick and highlighter.

Butter London Pitter Patter Nail Lacquer

Unlike the mystery box post, this is NOT a Canadian deal. GRRRRR!!!!!! This is a new limited edition colour exclusive to the American website.
This opaque aubergine shimmer is a limited edition lacquer created for the royal baby-to-be!An old colloquialism often used as a nudge by aging mums hoping for new grandbabies. “Will we hear the pitter patter of little feet soon?” Congrats, Will & Kate! (Available on butterlondon.com only.)
I will look in to whether it will be coming to Canada at any point and let you know as soon as I know!

Butter London Mystery Box

So Butter London is doing a mystery box. For $49 you get a minimum of $76 in free product. I think its a good deal as you get at LEAST a third off, but considering I have all the colours with the exception of the newest summer ones so I am afraid it would be like Julep all over again. It would all be things I already have.

But if you have just a very small collection of Butter London, I have to tell you to jump on it! Its a great deal!
