Riri Hearts MAC Collection

Rihanna just posted this pic on Instagram. This is the new collaboration she will be doing for MAC. I must say I really like the packaging. And since she seems to have forgiven Chris Brown a makeup line makes sense! This way, next time he kicks the sh*t out of her, she can disguise it!

The collections will launch throughout this year The first release will include a new lipstick inspired by MAC’s coveted Ruby Woo and will be called MAC RiRi Woo. The release will coincide with Rihanna’s upcoming concerts starting on May 4th and will be sold both online and at her concert venues.

The remaining three color collections with a summer collection limited to online sales but the fall and Holiday collections will be in stores as well. Only the holiday collection is set to include nail lacquer which is really lousy considering how much time she spends on her own nails. And for a polish addict like me I WANT POLISH! But since MAC polishes always disappoint me maybe it's a good thing!.

What are your thoughts on this collection?

Holiday 2013: Guy Bourdin

"François Nars has chosen a longtime muse as the subject of the second of his strategic collaborations: Guy Bourdin. Nars, in addition to having created his namesake cosmetics line (now owned by Shiseido Americas Corp.), is also an avid photographer. The limited-edition color cosmetics collection will “evoke the Parisian fashion photographer’s ambitious, provocative work,” according to the company. The offering, which will hit counters in November, is being produced under a license with Art + Commerce"
-WWD.COM
Yup! So if you spent 8 months last year anxious and waiting to see what the Andy Warhol collection was going to look like.... No? That was just me? I am not kidding. At least once a week I googled and searched wating for sneak peek. Well here we go again! This holidays inspiration/muse? Guy Bourdin! For those of you who do not know, Bourdin was a french artist who worked for Vogue Paris fashion magazine for decades as a fashion photographer.

Bourdin worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and shot ad campaigns for Chanel, Issey Miyake, Emanuel Ungaro, Gianni Versace, Loewe, Pentax and Bloomingdale's. He truly was (and still is) a pioneer of Fashion and one of the greatest and most famous fashion photographers in the world.

Here are just a few images of his:

Marc Jacobs X Sephora

"..................the clear top coat models wore on their fingers last night, was custom-created with special polymers to have a shocking gloss value at the personal request of Jacobs, who wanted it to resemble the custom coffee table he has in his home that is shellacked with thirty coats of lacquer."

"The other shade on view, Jezebel—a dark garnet that models wore on their toes—”has incredible payoff,” according to Ferri, who claimed that she got full color coverage in just one coat."
Quotes taken from Style.com!

So what can I say about this? A collaboration between Marc Jacobs (who I LOVE) and Sephora X (that I have not yet tried? Sign me up!

And so to get more information I went right to the horses mouth so to speak........... and checked out Sephora Glossy. Here is what they had to say and a few more pictures!

THIS JUST IN: Two nail polish shades from the forthcoming Marc Jacobs Beauty collection have debuted on the designer’s A/W runway: Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer in Shiny, a high-gloss clear, was featured on models’ hands and Jezebel, a bold red, was featured on toes. “Marc and I have been working together on his shows for 15 years, and he’s as passionate about the beauty look as he is about the fashion,” says manicurist Elisa Ferri. “He prefers a clean and sleek hand for the runway so as not to distract from the clothing. He opted for Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer in Shiny —Shiny is his favorite color!—by Marc Jacobs Beauty, and chose Jezebel, a ravishing red, for the toes to act as the finishing touch.”It’ll be another few months before you will be able to pick up this collection at Sephora, but trust us:
It’s worth the wait. “This formula is incredible. It has a wet-look finish that mimics the look of 30 coats of lacquer,” says Sylvie Rouaix, VP of product development and brand marketing for Sephora, who helped develop Marc Jacobs Beauty. “There’s nothing else like it.”

Limited Edition Baby Lips - With Swatches

Ok. So I showed you Grape Vine and Peach Kiss a week or two ago. I had been really excited to try them and I got the ones that they had at the time. I have been using Grape Vine since I got it and have really fallen for it. When I posted the blog post I kept hearing people tell me to check out the limited edition colours/scents but I had not seen them. Little did I know I was just in the wrong store! I walked in to one of the Rexall stores in the city and boy oh boy did they have them!

So I picked up Melon Mania and Yummy Plummy. I think Twinkle and Pink Wink are going to be too light but I think I still need to pick up Coral Crush! Maybe pick up Pink Punch and Cherry Me from the base line as well.

But, as I was saying, boy oh boy did Rexall have Baby Lips!  This was the end cap display (they also had some within the normal Maybelline makeup section!

And at the front of the store they had all the duos!

And, in case the regular spot, the end cap and the duos display was not enough, when you went to check out, this is what they had:

The two that have no colour were 50 cents cheaper and these ones don't have the cardboard packaging. I actually wish they ALL came this way. Save a tree and scrap the extra and unnecessary packaging!

Anyways, on to the swatches! I totally forgot to take pictures of the packaging last time, and then tore one of them open before taking the photos this time too! So you only get a photo with one of them in the packaging.

I will admit, I am a little disappointed at the lack of colour/pigmentation in Melon Mania. I had to swipe it across my hand 10-15 times to get that colour payoff. Thankfully I really love melon so its one that I will be happy to wear regardless of that. But it really has VERY little colour pay off.

Pastel Power Collection For Lise Watier Spring 2013

Inspired by the elegance and pureness of small flowers reminiscent of spring and demonstrates the power of delicate pastels.

Quatuor Pastel Power Eyeshadow Quartet - $36 - Limited Edition - a set of four silky eyeshadows in light grey, pale blue, coral and teal green in the wet & dry formula

I just love how pretty this is!  Pink Power Blush - $30 - Limited Edition - two shades of soft pink intertwine in a flower pattern for pink cheeks and an instant glow.

This reminds me so much of the Guerlain beads! I think I need to go pick these up! Illuminating Beads - $29 - Limited Edition - with 3 shades of beads to add a radiant glow containing hyaluronic acid to help keep skin well hydrated.

Eye Shine Vert Sarcelle - $19 - New Shade - with a soft texture and metallic effect.
Power Kiss Gloss - $21 - Limited Edition - adds shine and colour with a comfortable, long-lasting and non-sticking formula.
Rouge Plumpissimo Lipstick Corail Punch - $21 - New Shade - with a creamy texture and highly pigmented and irresistibly rich colour.
Waterproof Lip Crayon Soft Coral - $18 - New Shade - compliments the Rouge Plumpissimo Corail Punch lipstick.
Nail Lacquer - $13 - Limited Edition - in Power Punch and Power Grey - with the stupid lighted cap which I will not stop believing is just a stupid gimmick that is unnecessary.

Normally I am all over the nail polish and I will admit, I really do want Power Grey. But mostly, its the Illuminating beads that I really want to get! Will let you know if I do and how they compare to Guerlains!

Stila Loves CC Skye Set

I just ordered this set and am SO excited and can not wait to get it. I am not really much of a fan of the makeup but OMG am I excited to get the clutch!

So I guess I should start by explaining what this set is.

What it is:
A trio of Stila eye and lip favorites tucked inside a chic, limited-edition Benetar clutch designed by CC Skye.

What it does:
Perfect for date-night and beyond, this assortment of products and stylish woven bag with chain detailing makes the ideal gift for the glamour girl with an edge. Jewel Eye Shadow in Black Diamond offers a highly pigmented black with silver pearl wash of color for the lids. Pair the shadow with Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Spectrum, a glittery, pigment-rich black eyeliner with a rainbow multi-pearl finish that stays put all day and night. Finish off the look with Stila's Lip Glaze in Apricot, a high-shine lip gloss with a delectable matching flavor and scent, dispensed in Stila's iconic click pen.

This set contains:
- 0.08 oz Jewel Eye Shadow in Black Diamond (black with silver pearl)
- 0.05 oz Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Spectrum (black with rainbow multi-pearl glitter)
- 0.08 oz Lip Glaze in Apricot (sheer apricot)
- Black Faux Leather CC Skye Benetar clutch (10 x 5")
Now lets talk value. The cost of the set is supposed to be valued at $239 and the set is priced at $150. So lets go back to what is included:
What it is:
A trio of Stila eye and lip favorites tucked inside a chic, limited-edition Benetar clutch designed by CC Skye.

This set contains:
- 0.08 oz Jewel Eye Shadow in Black Diamond (black with silver pearl) $23
- 0.05 oz Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Spectrum (black with rainbow multi-pearl glitter) $29
- 0.08 oz Lip Glaze in Apricot (sheer apricot) $29

And that makes the makeup alone, $81 for the value of the makeup alone. And also included in the set, the item I really am excited to get is:
- Black Faux Leather CC Skye Benetar clutch (10 x 5")

Now what is the CC Skye Benetar clutch? I have been lemming it ever since I saw Ashley Tisdale carrying it! I do not quite no why it called my name so much. I am not an Ashley Tisdale fan (I can not even tell you who she is or what she is in other than the fact that I saw this image online and fell for the bag!) and I am not such a gold fan. The bag retails for $150 and it went on sale awhile back somewhere for $110 and I almost got it. But decided that I could not justify it since it has gold hardware and I am not a big gold fan.

Now the best part? Its on sale for............ Are you ready??? $40! And this limited edition colaboration is faux leather, not real leather. But it comes in SILVER hardware!! Not gold!!!!!

I am a happy blogger tonight!

Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty Line

For those of you who have not yet heard, Drew Barrymore has been working on a new line of makeup. Supposedly in Walmart Stores already, this is a very large collection. The line has been created as a brand intended to bring luxury to the masses and will be exclusive to the big box chain. Retailing for between $4.98 and $13.98 each, these products are supposedly made with a proprietary botanical-driven “soft focus complex” to amplify skin’s glow and can be found in high end luxury brands. Now I don't know how it can be both "proprietary" and found throughout high end brands, but that's just me! And while I have not yet seen these in any Canadian stores, nor are they on the Canadian Walmart site as of yet, they ARE on the American site. The packaging is white with rose gold accents and the promo pics of it sure look cute!
