No, your eyes do NOT deceive you. This IS a red lipstick! I assure you, I am as surprised by this as you are.
While this is described as a classic red, its got a bit of a brick or brown undertone to it. It is certainly not what I think of as a classic red. I am someone who tends to shy away from red lipstick. And by that I mean I DONT wear them. EVER.
Me? Red? You've got to be kidding. I am a standard, pink, or rose toned lip girl. I like to blend in to the wall, not stand out. And I just feel overwhelmingly noticeable in a red lip. Its ridiculous, and its simply in my head, but I just find it shocking and ridiculous looking on me and can not seem to do it. So when I saw this red I have no idea what drew me to it or what made me swatch it in the Sephora. I can't even blame the girlfriend I was shopping with as she was in the Kat Von D section. But something drew me to it, and I must say its the first red I have ever felt like I could wear.
And I have actually worn this red now twice! So for all of you who are afraid of a red lip, or who don't feel like they can pull off a red lip, I suggest trying this one. There is just something about it different than every other red in the universe (at least to me).
