Le Metier De Beaute Nail Lacquer in Hot 'N Saucy & Creme Fresh Tint in Mystique

So what happens when you hear the word Hawaii? What is the thing YOU think to buy? I get asked by my parents what I would like them to bring me back from Honolulu. What do I say? "OMG! THERE IS A NEIMAN MARCUS there! I want LMDB!!". I am sadly not joking. My fav brand, I am left to assume they hate Canadians, as they don't sell their products here no matter how much I beg and plead them on twitter. I guess they haven't yet heard that the world revolves around me. Quite rude if you ask me, but I will manage to put that aside for now.

So my mom asked what I wanted and I said I was DYING to try one of the creme fresh tints so either one of those or a nail polish and then proceeded to give my mom a list of the shades of polish I had from the brand already.

And what do they bring me home? BOTH!

Now I have to be honest. I had seen this colour online and didn't want it. A vampy red? Not a jinx-y colour AT ALL. So when my mom showed it to me I put on a big smile and said thank you and in my head went "REALLY? A hundred colours I am dying for and they bring me THIS?". Well, it turns out my dad (apparently this was HIS choice)  is smarter than I am (please don't tell him I said that!!) as I FRIGGEN LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is basically what you would get if you took a colour such as Scarab and put Clarins 230 or Max Factor Fantasy Fire over it without the purple shift. Its just so friggen awesome. So awesome that it will be my next manicure. I cant get over the awesomness of it. So yes. Apparently father knows best. Who would have thunk?

By the way, the above is ONE COAT! Yup, you heard me right!

Now I have heard over and over how great these are, but I have never had the privilege of trying them before.  So I hoped that IF my parents got one for me that I would a) like the colour and b) like the product! My mom says she actually told the sales associate that I was glow in the dark white. And this was the recommendation. I was a little nervous after asking for this because I am so red that its very hard to find shades that don't make my skin look redder than it naturally is.

I think you can see in this picture a good idea of how gorgeous this shade is. Its a pale pink, not quite as barbie pink as this makes it look. Its on the cool side and leans slightly purple/lilac and even has a bit of an earthiness to it. I was worried about all the gold shimmer in it thinking it would be too shimmery for my face and that I would be stuck using it as only a lip colour. But I actually LOVE it on my cheeks. The shimmer doesn't translate in a glittery or sparkly way, more as a bit of glow. I don't love it on my lips but don't dislike it.

Overall, I am pretty sure if I had gone I would have passed over the blush as the gold shimmer would have scared me off and I KNOW I wouldn't have gotten the nail polish. So the moral of the story SHOULD be that I only allow them to pick out my makeup since they obviously do a better job than I do, but we all know thats not going to happen!
