BEWARE - LONG RANT AHEAD!!

It has been a very long time since I have posted a long rant on here. But here I sit mad and blogging! In the last few days I have seen a lot of stir and talk in the polish community about bullying. I had no idea where that came from or why it was being discussed. We all know that polish can be a very passionate hobby/love/activity for many and that often leads to flare ups on here. Lynnderella is a good example of a topic that can INSTANTLY polarize a polish group or discussion and pit one person against another! But then I saw a post from the blog Plump and Polished (I would link you all to it but I do not at all want to be a part of sending people to her blog). This is a screen shot of the post.

REALLY????!!!!!!??? Now before I rant about this and my feelings about this, let me say she did post again  after the backlash and try to clarify:

WHAT????????? Really? You didn't think that saying "whether you're a polish newbie or proffesional, a bit of a mess can happen. Does that mean it needs to be shown off? Hell to the no." would offend people? She goes on to say that the phrase "clean up or die" was taken out of context. Aside from the fact that I have no idea how it could possibly be interpreted in any possible way other than one, lets take that out of the post all together. It is still an infuriating and offensive post. Are you kidding me? I look at blogs for the swatches to see colour and finish and opacity. And honestly, I actually like when I see a manicure that is not 100% perfect. It makes me feel better about my own imperfections! But to suggest that bloggers do not have the RIGHT to post a picture that is not perfect? While I would like to tell this blogger exactly where to go and what part of my body I would like her to kiss, I chose not to post on her blog. Trust me, it took a lot of restraint to not post and that is not something I am usually known for.

So let me just be clear right here and now. If you agree with her or feel the same way as she does, unfollow me now. I will not always have perfectly polished manicured nails. That is life.

  3. lol that little group would crap their pants if they saw my cuticles. I work in warehouse, no amount of lotion can save these cuticles. Toss on some "I gotta leave in the next hr but this damn polish takes 4 coats" and you get a "look at my craptastic nails anyways because the colour is pretty" picture. When looking for swatches I don't care about anything but the actual swatch. I'm not looking for freakin hand models. If I wanted that I'd open a magazine.

  4. It's posts like this that are perpetuating it.

    1. Perpetuating what Ashley Eileen? What is this, so now you are telling us we can't talk about what we want to in the way we want to now? HAHAAHAA INCREDIBLE! Bwaaahahaha this is NOT going away! There is a much larger group than B4cc coming out to discuss this issue in an anti bullying campaign.

So you may as well get USED TO IT NOW or say you are sorry now for upsetting so many nice ladies who never did one thing to you ever!

Talking about bullies? Bullies HATE it when they are exposed for what they are Punishing the bully is not bullying, it is DISCIPLINE for their BETTERMENT to be a better person in society. Some choose not to learn and Karma cares for them!

    2. What I find interesting is that the blog post no longer exists. Almost like she KNEW it wasn't good to have said what she did and that she alienated so many people that might read her blog because she was so RUDE!! Glad to see it's gone. It's not even on her FB page! Hmm...

  5. you have the right to post anything that you want on your blog and nobody is perfect, I probably have some messy nails on my blog but it does look more "polished" and professional when you have a neat manicure, sometimes I have thought about certain blogs "damn you could't try to clean up those edges"

  6. I don't demand perfect clean up on the blogs I follow. However, (and maybe I'm showing my age here) the "or die" doesn't bother me. I remember being in middle school and all the cool kids had the "Skate or Die" stickers all over their stuff. There was the recent "vote or die" campaign as well..Will Ferrell has the "Funny or Die" website. I doubt the people who had the Vision street wear stickers or Puff meant that we should all die if we didn't skate/vote.

  8. Awesome post. You are a real lady in that you showed restraint and tact - unlike a certain someone.

It hurts me to know that there are some people in this world who have to be so needlessly difficult. Nail polish is an absolute good- why ruin a good thing by being mean?

  9. Love this Polish Jinx, It is just a bunch of snobs who think they are better than everyone else, I for one love to see people post stuff that is not "perfect" because I am not "perfect" =)
