Lynnder-YOU HAVE TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME -rella Nail Polish

So there has been a TON of Lynnderella drama recently. Like a good little girl I sat quiet and did not discuss it. Really, it is irrelevant to me. And yes, I understand that some jerk off was upbidding a ton of Lynns for the sole purpose of screwing up the auctions and never having any intention of paying. So the fact that the few 800.00 bottles that were sold to a legitimate person were apparently given to her for much less than the auction price she agreed on does not bother me. Its scamming ebay, its scamming those that might have been wiling to pay 499.00 and not 799.00 (yes, it boggles my mind too, but there are people willing to pay that much) but thats for Lynn to deal with when she eventually gets caught. None of that is my issue.

Yes. This is a screen shot of a REAL auction. Someone payed over a grand for ONE bottle. AND HERE LIES MY ISSUE:

The concept that Lynnderella has a goal of making the lacquers available to as many people as possible is laughable. I have no issue that it has become all about the money for her. It obviously has. Quotes from her own blog include "It has crossed my mind that if I wanted to take the ebay route, I could vastly decrease workload and probably increase my income." and "I have often wondered about selling on eBay and thought I was probably foolish to not be the person making huge profits on things I created.". I have no issue with any of that. But it is very clearly about the money now. NOT about getting it out there to as many people as possible. So why not just own that???

It blows my mind that someone would blow more than a grand on a polish. I have no issue with that. It is not something I can afford to do, nor do I think I would if I could, but since I cant, I guess I wont know. I really don't care. I think spending 30.00 on a bottle of Chanel polish makes me crazy (and I think this everytime I hand over the plastic and buy a bottle!!) But why cant Lynn just be honest about this? Its about the money! If it were about getting it out to everyone as fast as possible then she would have listed all her polishes that were destined for the first round of Llarowe's wishlists and she wouldnt be doing all these auctions.

  1. For that price the polish should have been made of pure gold :P

  2. This is a monster all the people blowing up her ass created. This is the product of rabid fangirls foaming at the mouth over a bottle of suspension base and glitter. What's worse is that Lynn is still creating and selling. Nerds don't go for nearly as much as this and none of them have bleeding or curling glitters and will more than likely never be made again.

Kudos to Lynn for capitalizing on the communities blind lust for glitter. Shame on those who keep such absurdity going.

  3. I agree. She shouldnt beclaiming that shes making them available to as many people as possible. For a start you cant even bid if you dont live in america. I was looking forward to submitting a wish list but its just insane now.

  4. I agree 100%. The people buying them, are to put it nicely, morons. Jesus' tears in a bottle isn't worth a grand. Then you have "I love everyone *cough* that has money *cough* Lynn "sharing her love with the world". GMAFB. I weep over the loss of NerdLacquer.

  5. The people who previously bought the other $$$ lynns were found out to be drug dealers (people have found the state court records with the ebay account holders name and the girl from instagram's names on them), Hope lynn enjoys that drug money

  6. The most expensive polish I have purchased was a bottle of MPJ holo for $30. I could not imagine ever spending $1000 on one bottle of polish. Sure the Lynnderella's are pretty, but so are many other polishes. After all the hoopla surrounding Lynn's, I am much more inclined to buy from other independent sellers on Esty and the like. Just as pretty, but far less hassle.

  7. It also bothers me that she keeps posting "limited edition" or "discontinued" polishes. How limited are they or are they really discontinued if she is continuing to make them? You have people shelling out money thinking they are receiving something a little special, but then she keeps posting bottles of them. Grrr....makes me mad.

  8. I made a comment on my blog facebook page about the same thing when I found out the only way you could purchas them was on ebay (unless sold by some brave individual). From a person of limited income I can understand where she's coming from, but then she shouldn't post all that at the bottom of each auction. It's NEVER a "But it Now" and everytime I see an auction it's like at $800...for ONE freaking bottle of polish! Who does that?? That's one reason I decided to have a giveaway on my Nerd Lacquer, although Amanda hasn't done this, it's the concept that not everyone can pay $200 for a bottle of polish and the world doesn't always revolve around money and popularity, but rather a love for polish and sharing that with the rest of the world...It's sad that she came to the decision that she did. Guess I will never own a bottle of Lynnderella:(
