Julep Shania vs Julep Dendrie

Dendrie on top, Shania on the bottom

I was recently emailed and asked to compare the differences between Shania and Dendrie. They are both grey. That is about it. Dendrie is a dove grey crème, and Shania is a lighter metallic pearly grey (almost a super pale silver). Dendrie is the normal Julep formula, the perfect consistency, easy to apply, evenly perfect in one coat. Shania...... not so much. Its a frosty, pearly, metallic finish and a pain in the you-know-what! Now if you have the patience of a Saint, and can manage the 3 oh so careful coats it would take to make sure no brush strokes were seen, its gorgeous. Me, not so much.

  1. I got Shania in my first box and don't love it - wish I would have gotten Dendrie!

  2. yeah, im not a lover either. Way too hard and way to much work to make it LOOK gorgeous. If you had the expert hands and patient of a Saint... well then that's a different story. But I am a lot of things, patient is NOT one of them!

  3. This is so funny, I have Shania and I just saw a post swatching Dendrie and I wondered how close they were! Then, I scrolled down and saw this post. What are the odds?

I didn't have too much of a problem with Shania...and although I like Dendrie better, I have lots of shades exactly like that already. So, I guess I am happy enough with Shania. lol.

  4. Thanks for doing this comparison!

The sad thing is that you can't get Dendrie as a solo color at the moment. Too bad since it seems to apply better than Shania. Both colors are pretty though!
